Off the Grid! Courtney Dober Buys Land in San Bernardino National Forest to Build a 'Cabin in the Woods'
He’s officially a man of the woods! Courtney Dober took to Instagram on Tuesday to let Bachelor Nation know that he has purchased a piece of land in Southern California’s San Bernardino National Forest, where he plans to build a cabin.
“Officially own a small slice of the San Bernardino National Forest! Yay!!” the “Bachelorette Australia” alum wrote. “Next step (when I’m back), building a completely off grid cabin in the woods.”
Courtney’s post also included photos of his new property, which shows the beginning building stages of his soon-to-be home set between gorgeous greenery. He concluded his caption by asking, “What’s an essential off grid luxury that I HAVE to include?”
Seasoned nomad Dean Unglert, who appeared on “Bachelor Winter Games” alongside Courtney in 2018, suggested that he purchases “espresso machines plural, espresso machines [for] every room.”
Courtney jokingly replied, “There’ll be enough espresso machines for the whole forest!”
As U.S. viewers of “Bachelor Winter Games” will recall, Courtney met and fell in love with “Bachelor New Zealand” star Lily McManus while filming the Olympics-inspired spin-off show. The pair continued their relationship off-camera but never got engaged. They eventually called it quits in August 2018 but remain close friends. Lily went on to lead “The Bachelorette New Zealand” Season 1 in 2020 and is still coupled up with her final rose recipient, Richie Boyens.
When Courtney’s not piecing together his rustic abode, he remains busy these days by hosting Australia’s popular home makeover reality series “The Fixers.”
Take a look at his latest project below.
