Tayshia Adams Shares Her Favorite Childhood Recipe for Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookies
Yum! Tayshia Adams shared a sentimental cookie recipe this week in a video tutorial for Delish.
“I am so excited to share with you one of my favorite, favorite, favorite childhood recipes. It is oatmeal butterscotch cookies,” said the Season 16 Bachelorette, filming from inside her New York City apartment with fiancé Zac Clark. “We’re going to be making 36 cookies, so it’s quite a bit, but I have a lot of people to share it with.”
Throughout the baking process, Tayshia offered insight on her culinary skills and life in the Big Apple with Zac.
“I think my parents both liked to cook food as opposed to bake,” she said of her mother, Rosario, and father, Desmond. “I would say I’m the baker along with my sister. And that’s just because my dad loves to barbecue. He doesn’t really cook much, but he knows how to barbecue. But my mom can literally make any kind of food.”
The Orange County, California, native then revealed where she picked up her delicious cookie recipe. “My neighbor used to bake a ton and during summer, we would honestly just look at the cookbooks or we would watch Food Network and we would just find a new recipe and we would make absolutely everything,” she recalled. “And her cookies, I still think to this day, are unmatched. I’ve never tasted anybody else’s cookies that taste as well as Marie’s.”
Elsewhere, Tayshia admitted that she and Zac are equally obsessed with desserts. “I would definitely say that Zac and I have an equal sweet tooth,” she said. “I have never met anyone that has such a sweet tooth as I do.”
The “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” podcast co-host continued, “My parents still tease me to this day that as a child, I would always come home with candy wrappers in my pockets from school. And they would always wonder, ‘Where did Tayshia get candy today?’ I have such a sweet tooth that it’s an actual problem. But Zac does, too! It’s a problem between both of us. That’s why we can’t keep anything in the house or else it will be gone in the morning.”
According to Tayshia, she and Zac plan to get busier in the kitchen once they move into a bigger space. “We haven’t really cooked much in this apartment just because it’s kind of small and Zac doesn’t really have all the things. I don’t blame him. He was single and probably wasn’t cooking too much here at home on his own,” she said of the handsome addiction specialist. “I would probably say when we get a new bigger place, we’re probably going to start cooking more.”
Added Tayshia, “But for now, we’re having fun exploring the city and getting lots of food ordered in. I don’t think Zac actually knows that I’m a pretty good cook.”
