Tayshia Adams Tells Becca Kufrin About Her Role on Katie Thurston's Season of 'The Bachelorette'
On the latest episode of “Bachelor Happy Hour,” guest co-host Tayshia Adams told Becca Kufrin about her exciting role on Katie Thurston’s upcoming season of “The Bachelorette.”
As ABC and Warner Bros. announced on Friday, Tayshia and fellow former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe “will support [Katie] through next season” as host Chris Harrison is still on hiatus from the franchise following his controversial “Extra” interview with Rachel Lindsay in February.
“I am so excited to be here for Katie,” said Tayshia, whose “Bachelorette” Season 16 journey ended in 2020 with an engagement to contestant Zac Clark.
“One of the best parts about my journey was having you guys come and see me,” she continued, noting the visits — and counseling — she received from Bachelorettes Becca, Rachel, and JoJo Fletcher during her cycle. “No one can give you more sound advice than a previous Bachelorette because no one else really gets what you’re going through. And the fact that I can really be here for Katie and help her along the way is so fun.”
Tayshia — who is currently in New Mexico, where production for Katie’s season is underway — went on to say that she hopes to serve as a “mentor” and “confidante” for the Season 17 Bachelorette, an instant fan favorite from Matt James’ landmark 25th season of “The Bachelor.”
“I cannot wait for her. It’s gonna be amazing. I just want to get that girl engaged! I just want to get her started,” she added. “I’m so excited for her.”
Tayhsia also explained why she is thrilled to assist Katie in her search for love alongside Kaitlyn, who led Season 11 of “The Bachelorette” in 2015 and is now happily coupled up with franchise star Jason Tartick.
“I feel like Kaitlyn and I have such different personalities and we have such different seasons. I think Katie is very lucky to have both of our different perspectives,” said Tayshia. “Kaitlyn and I are going to rock it!”
Becca agreed, telling Tayshia that she is looking forward to seeing both women back on her small screen when Katie’s season premieres this summer. “She has the best wingwomen with you two, I will say. It’s going to be incredible,” said the Season 14 Bachelorette. “I cannot wait. I’m thrilled!”
