Catherine Lowe on Expanding Her Family with Husband Sean and the Importance of Raising a 'Strong' Daughter
Another Bachelor Nation baby? Catherine Lowe stopped by “Bachelor Happy Hour” and chatted with co-hosts Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin about the possibility of expanding her family with husband Sean Lowe.
“We’ve talked about adoption in the past, and we’re praying about it and we’re talking about it and we’re trying to see if that’s right for where we are,” said the mom of three, who shares Samuel, 4, Isaiah, 2, and Mia, 15 months, with Sean.
“But three in a pandemic under four is really tough, so we’re like, ‘Is this something that we’re capable of?’ Because we want to be present if we bring another child into [our family], whether it’s natural or it’s through an adoption agency,” Catherine continued. “We’re just trying to tread water now, see what we want to do, because we really want to be present for each of our children’s chapters.”
She added, “And then we’ll see, from there, if this is something that we want to take on, because it’s a huge responsibility to bring another child in, whether it’s through pregnancy or any other means.”
Elsewhere in her conversation with Rachel and Becca, Catherine opened up about the importance of raising daughter Mia to be “strong.”
“She’s got a very strong personality. I’m trying to learn from other moms with very sassy girls to see how to handle it and what to do, because it’s a lot,” said the “Bachelor” alum. “How am I going to handle this? Because I know she’s going to be opinionated. And that’s an awesome thing for a girl.”
Catherine also spoke about her kids’ adorable bond. “[My sons are] obsessed with [Mia]. Samuel makes her laugh and that’s what he wants to do — make her laugh and be there for her, to be silly,” she said. “And then Isaiah is somebody who nurtures, goes up to her and kisses her any time. It’s such a sweet dynamic between each of them and their relationships with each other.”
However, the franchise star — who lives in Dallas, Texas, with her family — said that Isaiah and Mia have a singular relationship.
“There’s something special about Isaiah and Mia. They’re the babies together, but they act very, very close,” Catherine elaborated. “I can see them being best friends forever in how they treat each other and how they respond to each other. It’s really cool and I’m just trying to witness it and take in everything that they do together because it’s a very special bond.”
