How Abigail Heringer's 'Bachelor' Journey Helped Her Become More Confident
Abigail Heringer stopped by “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” to chat with co-hosts Tayshia Adams, Joe Amabile, and Natasha Parker about her journey on “The Bachelor” Season 25.
Though she didn’t win Matt James’ final rose, Abigail said she walked away from the show with a major self-esteem boost.
“I think, moving forward, it’s definitely given me a lot more confidence in just being myself. There were definitely a lot of positives,” she said, reflecting on her time filming at Pennsylvania’s Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in the fall of 2020.
Elsewhere, Abigail — who made history as the first deaf contestant to ever appear on “The Bachelor” — reflected on her decision to tell Matt about her hearing loss. According to the brunette beauty, Matt’s warm response made her experience all the better.
“I just wanted to lay it out on the table and let him know right away,” she said of sharing her story with the handsome lead on night one. “I was like, ‘If I’m going to go through this super crazy process, I’m just going to rip the Band-Aid off and just tell him right away.’ I’m really glad that I did. He was really nice and really receptive about it.”
She added, “He was just really easy to talk to, at the end of the day, so it just made it so much easier.”
Abigail went on to say that she enjoyed learning even more about herself through all of the deep conversations she engaged in on “The Bachelor.”
“It’s more than just talking about my hearing loss. You just have to open up about what you’re looking for in a relationship, insecurities when it comes to dating — so quickly,” she explained. “It’s a weird feeling because you feel really attracted to Matt. You feel like you have a stronger connection because of that and then you’re like, ‘Well, we’ve only actually hung out maybe three or four times.’ It’s a different dynamic.”
