Raven Gates & Adam Gottschalk Share Details from Their 'Perfect' Wedding Day and Hawaii Honeymoon
Wedded bliss! After tying the knot on April 16, Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk opened up about their special day in an interview with People published on Wednesday.
The beloved Bachelor Nation couple — who first fell in love while filming “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 4 in 2017 — told the outlet that they were initially worried that a predicted rainstorm might put a damper on their I dos.
“We were so disappointed,” said Raven, who walked down the aisle at The Olana, a luxe estate outside of Dallas, Texas, where she and Adam reside.
“But when we showed up at the venue, it was clear skies and everything was perfect,” the boutique owner added. “It was a sign!”
Elsewhere, Raven explained how frustrating it was to have to replan her nuptials with Adam three times due to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic. Just 20 family members and close friends were in attendance and were tested for COVID-19 the day before.
“Replanning was exhausting,” she said. “But we kept our spirits up. And at the end of the day, it's just about us and our marriage. And if Adam and I can get through this, we can get through a lot!”
The interfaith ceremony — Raven is Christian, while Adam is Jewish — included heartfelt self-penned vows.
“That was my favorite part,” Raven said. “Adam did such a beautiful job writing his vows. It was so special. And to have just the people there who will be with us for everything was so intimate and spiritual.”
Adam gushed, “Raven looked so beautiful. I was an absolute mess, sobbing and crying.”
The duo told People that guests enjoyed dinner at tables overflowing with white flowers by Something Pretty Floral and food provided by Blue Fire Catering. According to Adam — who is from Los Angeles — their culinary offerings were inspired by Raven’s upbringing in Arkansas.
“They took some of the foods we liked and made it very unique,” said the handsome real estate broker. “There was definitely a Southern twist.”
Reflecting on the celebratory event, Raven said she found it hard to believe she’s officially Mrs. Gottschalk.
“Everyone told me the day would go by so fast. I had no idea how true that was!” she exclaimed, noting that the struggles they faced along their journey to becoming husband and wife were definitely worth it.
“I couldn’t have imagined it any other way,” Raven said. “We couldn’t have asked for anything to work out more perfectly than it did. We feel so grateful.”
Raven and Adam are currently enjoying a honeymoon in Hawaii, where they hope to get started on becoming parents.
“I want three kids, but Raven might be tapped out at two,” Adam joked, to which Raven replied, “I’m just so happy to marry someone I love so much. I prayed for this day. And God willing, we will have a honeymoon baby!”
Adam took to Instagram on Monday, sharing sweet snapshots from his romantic getaway with Raven. Check them out below.
