Krystal Nielson Explains Why Breastfeeding Daughter Andara Has Been 'Challenging' Lately
Krystal Nielson took to Instagram on Monday to partake in a candid Instagram Story Q&A about the ups and downs of first-time motherhood.
The Bachelor Nation star — who welcomed daughter Andara on March 31 with boyfriend Miles Bowles — answered a series of fan queries, including one about her relationship with breastfeeding.
“Do you genuinely love breastfeeding? I hated it,” wrote Krystal’s follower, to which the new mom replied, “Actually love it!! Feels really special to have this time with her.”
However, the gorgeous fitness coach admitted that it’s been a bit difficult lately, as Andara is “cluster feeding.” Cluster feeding — which typically happens in the early days of breastfeeding — is a time when an infant frequently needs short feeds over the span of a few hours.
“Cluster feeding is challenging bc I was super on the go & independent before Andara,” Krystal continued. “But I know it’s only temporary!!”
Elsewhere in her Story, the blonde beauty shared her favorite part of parenthood so far.
“Oh my gosh, I would say my favorite thing about being a mom is just how much Andara inspires me to challenge myself to go after my dreams and my goals and to just be fearless so I can be a role model for her,” she explained in a video clip.
“I will say the thing that has surprised me the most is I didn’t realize how much I would enjoy parenting which makes it not seem as tough and as hard because I’m enjoying things,” Krystal elaborated. “We were also really prepared for it to be terrible.”
Krystal — who split from husband and fellow “Bachelor in Paradise” alum Chris Randone in February 2020 after eight months of marriage — announced in November that she was pregnant. She and Miles, who live together in Southern California, began dating in the spring of 2020 after meeting through a mutual friend.
