Tayshia Adams Shares the Advice She Gave Season 17 Bachelorette Katie Thurston
On this week’s episode of “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation,” Tayshia Adams shared the words of wisdom she gave Katie Thurston during her journey as the Season 17 Bachelorette.
"Don’t try to control the narrative because it never really works out for you when you’re trying to control every twist and turn," Tayshia told co-hosts Joe Amabile and Natasha Parker, echoing similar guidance from fellow former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe.
"That’s the one place — and I tried to explain this to Katie as well — this is the one place where [you should] just let other people kind of handle it and just see where the cards unfold because you just never know," added Tayshia, who led "The Bachelorette" Season 16 in 2020 and is engaged to her final rose recipient, Zac Clark.
“There’s so much more happening behind the scenes that you are unaware of, like the conversations that the guys are having or someone has something planned for you,” she elaborated. “You trying to control that narrative might change the course of all these other relationships.”
Tayshia continued, “It’s not very natural for you to be navigating 20 to 30 relationships at one time, so this is the one time where you do have people kind of having your best interests [at heart] and trying to take care of that for you.”
As fans are well aware, Tayshia and Kaitlyn will be acting as mentors for Katie on “The Bachelorette.”
Asked by Joe if Katie followed her and Kaitlyn’s advice, Tayshia replied, “I think it was challenging and hard for her at times — and rightfully so. I think anybody would have a difficult time [as the lead]. So, yeah, I think she tried her best.”
Elsewhere, Tayshia teased what to expect when Katie’s search for love kicks off this summer: “I feel like there are definitely some things that take place in this season that I don’t think have ever happened before.”
