Kaitlyn Bristowe & Jason Tartick Announce Engagement: 'It Was Really Special'

Congratulations are in order for Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick! The beloved Bachelor Nation couple announced their engagement on Tuesday.
“It was everything I could have asked for,” Kaitlyn told “Entertainment Tonight.” “The words that came out of his mouth were insanely beautiful. We’ve never locked eyes like that in our lives. We were holding hands, so intense, and I was listening to his every word but still blacked out.”
Jason popped the question while Kaitlyn was recording a new episode of her “Off the Vine” podcast.
“Jason’s like, ‘Kaitlyn, we’re not doing a podcast.’ And I’m like, ‘You forgot to hit record, didn’t you!’” Kaitlyn recounted. “He was like, ‘No, this is something else,’ and he got up and I saw him bring out a ring box from the drawer.”
She added, “I was trying to be present, but I was so overwhelmed, and I was so embarrassed because I was wearing a T-shirt that said, ‘Tequila for Breakfast.’ I was like, ‘This feels very on-brand, but also very inappropriate!’”
Not long after sharing the sweet story of Jason’s proposal, Kaitlyn took to Instagram to upload a series of stunning engagement photos that see the brunette beauty flaunting her gorgeous diamond ring while cuddling up to her new fiancé. “Don’t pinch me,” she captioned her post.
Jason told “ET” that he originally planned to propose in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where he and Kaitlyn are headed this week to vacation and spend time with her parents. However, the Buffalo, New York, native said he made a “quick readjustment” due to concerns about the ring not making it through customs.
“I really did think a Jason way of doing it would have been something extravagant and really big. I actually thought he was going to do it maybe in Mexico, on the beach, and I would have saw it coming,” Kaitlyn said. “I really wanted it to be intimate, so I loved that it was just during our podcast. It was really special.”
Kaitlyn — who starred on “The Bachelor” Season 19 before leading “The Bachelorette” Season 11 — and Jason — who participated in Season 14 of “The Bachelorette” — have been dating since 2019 and live together in Nashville. The duo originally met when Jason appeared as a guest on Kaitlyn’s podcast.
