Sarah Colonna Explains How Her Seattle Seahawks Husband Made Her a 'Bachelor' Fan
Comedian Sarah Colonna stopped by “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” and chatted with Tayshia Adams, Natasha Parker, and guest co-host Mike Johnson about her unremitting love for the franchise.
During her interview, Sarah explained that it was her husband, Jon Ryan — former NFL punter for the Seattle Seahawks — who turned her on to all things Bachelor Nation.
“I started watching it because of my husband. He loves it,” she said of the athlete. “He said they talk about it in the locker room. He’s like, ‘People think we have “locker room talk.” We’re talking about what’s happening on “The Bachelor.”’”
Sarah added that Jon was a bit jealous of her invitation to join this week’s edition of “Click Bait.” “He’s watched it from the beginning,” she said. “We were talking about it this morning and he was like, ‘Oh, you get to go on and I’m the OG watcher.’”
The entertainer went on to say that she is particularly excited to watch Katie Thurston’s journey on “The Bachelorette” unfold this summer. (Season 17 premieres Monday, June 7, on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.)
“I think it’s going to be interesting to see you guys hosting it this way and I think it’s going to be super fun,” Sarah told Tayshia directly, referring to her role as mentor to Katie alongside fellow former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe.
“I just think it will be so fun to watch women hosting it and the input that you can provide because it’s another woman dating a lot of guys,” Sarah continued. “I think it’s kind of cool that we’re going to get to see it that way and see this different thing.”
Elsewhere, the “Shameless” actress noted that she is also anticipating the return of “Bachelor in Paradise” on August 16. “[Jon and I] enjoy ‘Bachelor in Paradise.’ It’s the sloppy version, but in a fun way,” she said with a laugh. “We can’t help ourselves. We watch it all.”
