Pregnant Lauren Burnham Luyendyk Is 'Convinced' She's Going into Labor Amid Contractions
Lauren Burnham Luyendyk — who is pregnant and expecting twins with husband Arie Luyendyk Jr. — began experiencing contractions on Wednesday.
“I’ve never been more convinced that we’re going to the hospital tonight,” Lauren texted Arie in messages shared on the former Bachelor’s Instagram Story. “They’re four mins apart.”
Arie — who also shares daughter Alessi, 2, with Lauren — replied, “YESSSS!!! Is this happening? I hope so!”
Later, Lauren told Arie via text that their twins — a boy and girl — are “trippy” and had her craving a “veggie freak sandwich, [a] Ghirudelli [sic] brownie [and] chocolate chip cookies.”
Shortly after, Arie updated his followers on the situation. “Potentially a false alarm,” he said on his Instagram Story. “The contractions slowed down a little bit so Lauren’s on the [exercise] ball trying to get it going.”
Arie then panned the camera to his wife — whom he met and fell in love with on “The Bachelor” Season 22 in 2018 — who was bouncing Alessi on her lap. Later, Lauren and Alessi went on “another walk” together. “Maybe this will work,” Arie wrote alongside a video clip of their second mother-daughter stroll of the day.
Arie and Lauren — who live in Scottsdale, Arizona, but recently purchased a second home in Hawaii — shared their exciting pregnancy news in December following a devastating miscarriage in May 2020.
Last month, Lauren revealed in an interview with Us Weekly that she was feeling a “little bit nervous” as she approached her babies’ June due date.
“I’m not nervous about the labor part as much, but I haven’t had a C-section before,” she said, noting that the thought of a potential C-section made her anxious. “Surgery is kind of scary to me. So I’m nervous about having a C-section because both of my kids are breech. There is a possibility that will happen.”

On the bright side, however, Lauren is looking forward to seeing Alessi step into her new role as a big sister.
“I took her to her first ultrasound with me this weekend. It was fun for her to see that the lady had the ultrasound machine on my stomach, and then she could see the baby on the screen,” the Shades of Rose founder told the outlet.
“I think that maybe helped her put two and two together a little bit more,” the future mom of three elaborated. “She’s always talking to them, like, ‘Hi, you baby,’ and kissing them. It’s really cute.”
