High Notes with Jamie Gabrielle: Catching Up with the 'Listen to Your Heart' Star
It’s been just over a year since the inaugural season of “The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart” finished airing on ABC.
The spin-off followed single singers and songwriters hoping to find love with each other through a shared passion for music. As viewers will recall, contestants performed well-known songs together — while also exploring their relationships with the help of “Bachelor”-style dates that focused on music. A handful of notable artists came in to act as guest judges throughout the series, such as Kesha, Jason Mraz, Toni Braxton, Ashlee Simpson, and Jewel.
But it was the gifted cast members who continuously stole the show with powerful vocals and, of course, major drama. So, what have they been up to since the competition concluded and cameras went down?
BachelorNation.com is progressively checking in with the cast, who are sharing love life updates, favorite memories from filming, musical milestones, and more.
Below, we’re catching up with runner-up Jamie Gabrielle, whose undeniable talent and vibrant personality made her an instant fan favorite. While she split from partner Trevor Holmes after the “Listen to Your Heart” finale, the Nashville resident has since found love with another musician and released her debut solo single “Go to Your Head.” Read on for her high notes!
What did you learn about yourself from competing on “Listen to Your Heart”?
I learned that I am a confident woman who is much more capable of success than I ever thought before.
How did the show help you grow as an artist?
The show helped me to believe in myself and my artistry, to take risks, and to be myself no matter what.
What is your favorite memory from filming?
My favorite memory of filming would probably be my performance in Vegas, as that was when I really came into myself and was the most confident onstage! I had fun instead of letting my fear of not being perfect take over — and it was my best performance!
If you have any regrets from your time on the show, what would you have done differently?
I think I would have followed my gut instincts on the people around me and some situations where I wanted to believe the best in people because I was caught up in my emotions. However, I’m only human. And although following your heart can lead to heartbreak, it’s always worth it to me.
What was your proudest moment on the show?
My proudest moment was getting up there for that first performance even though I have probably never been more nervous in my life. Getting good feedback from the judges that night, especially from Kesha — who I look up to so much — is something I’ll never forget. Also, our hug that was never aired.
What has been your biggest musical accomplishment since doing the show?
Releasing my first single and seeing the success that came from it!
How did the show impact your outlook on love?
I learned how to love myself more, to set better boundaries, trust my instincts, and to know that I am deserving of a healthy, loving relationship.
If you could only sing with two other “LTYH” contestants for the rest of your life, who would you choose?
Rudi and Danny [Padilla]!
How would you describe your strongest friendship on the show and who was it with?
My strongest friendship was Rudi, as she was the first friend I made in the house and she was my biggest supporter. Also, we always had a lot of fun together and I loved being able to learn so much from her when it comes to music and also being confident in who you are!
Would you ever date a musician again?
Yes! I’m dating one right now!

How would you describe your love life today?
I am in love. And for the first time, I am in a really loving, supportive, and healthy relationship! I learned from the show what I don’t want and what I deserve. And I found all the amazing qualities in the man I am dating today!
What are you looking forward to in the rest of 2021?
I am looking forward to sharing more music, becoming even more confident in myself, and showing the world my talent and hopefully inspiring people to reach for their dreams despite anxiety, fear, or lack of self-love.
