How Jason Tartick & Bryan Abasolo Knew Kaitlyn Bristowe & Rachel Lindsay Were 'The One'
Jason Tartick stopped by “Talking It Out” to chat with co-hosts Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo about his life with fiancée Kaitlyn Bristowe.
During the trio’s discussion, Jason explained how he knew Kaitlyn was “The One” for him — which prompted Bryan to share the same when talking about his wife, Rachel Lindsay.
“Everyone can list off things they want in a relationship, right? I could sit here for an hour and talk about a best friend, someone who’s loving and caring, and a sweetheart, and all those things. Kaitlyn and I had all that,” said Jason, who appeared on Becca Kufrin’s Season 14 of “The Bachelorette” in 2018 before striking up a romance with Kaitlyn in 2019.
“The one thing that made it click for me is when we really could actually communicate to one another,” he said of his partnership with the Season 11 Bachelorette. “I’ve had relationships before where we just get in fights, we get in the same fight two weeks later, and then the same fight and the same fight. With Kaitlyn and I, probably over COVID, was when we were in a discussion, we could sit back, come back to the table, and be like, ‘Hey, this is where I screwed up. How can we learn together as a unit and not let this repeat itself?’ I’ve never had that maturity or that ability to communicate and grow with someone.”
Jason — who proposed to Kaitlyn in May — elaborated, “This is what actually can lead us to be great parents and grandparents and have grandkids and great-grandkids and support each other, not just through this crazy stage which we’re in but in 10 years, 20 years, 40 years. I always knew Kaitlyn and I, our chemistry and everything is fire, and our energy is great. But to make a unit last a lifetime, [communication was one] of the things for me where I was like, ‘That’s a life partner.’”
Bryan said that he had a good feeling about his future with Rachel after meeting her on “The Bachelorette” Season 13 in 2017.
“Rachel just had an X factor. She was a triple threat,” noted the handsome chiropractor, who tied the knot with Rachel in August 2019. “Brains, beauty, personality, great sense of humor, she was a professional, she had a career. Everything on paper was top-notch, everything I could ever want in a woman, an engagement, in a wife — everything.”
Four years after falling in love with Rachel on reality TV, Bryan said their union is thriving because she “keeps me on my toes.”
“She challenges me to be a better man and I feel like guys need that, even a little attitude,” he said. “I feel like you need a little attitude. You can’t just be a pushover for me. Like Drake said it in one of his songs, he said, ‘A little attitude will make that s--t last.’ Sometimes you need a little feistiness to keep the flame going. She does it for me.”
