Trista Sutter took to Instagram on Thursday to open up about the positive impact of practicing self-care.
"Not that it’s happening as often as I should make it happen, but my motto lately: Me Time...It’s a Necessity," the Season 1 Bachelorette captioned a mirror selfie taken at a Pilates studio.
"Today, that means Pilates at @westriverfront and tomorrow it means I sit in a chair while @970style helps me was that grey right outta my hair,” the beloved franchise star continued. "Has to be done."
Trista went on to explain why something as simple as a workout or a hair appointment is crucial in maintaining her mental health.
"Not only for my physical health (and my roots!) but my mental health deserves it probably more than all other reasons combined," she wrote before asking her followers, "What are you doing to fill your bucket today?!"
Trista's candid post comes just days after she detailed her emotional state amid husband Ryan Sutter’s ongoing battle with Lyme disease.
"I try to look at the positive. It’s definitely a good thing to have answers. Not knowing is so, so difficult," she said on Tuesday’s episode of the "Almost Famous" podcast. "Those answers come with so many more questions. It’s actually difficult."
Trista — who married Ryan in 2003 after falling in love with the handsome firefighter on “The Bachelorette” — noted that her husband has his “up days and his down days” when it comes to his illness.

“It’s been hard. I want him to be better. I want him to spend time with our family and make memories. When you don’t feel good, it just takes away from life,” said the mom of two, who shares son Maxwell, 13, and daughter Blakesley, 12, with Ryan.
“I’m not doing great, and not just about him. I’ve been struggling for sure,” Trista added. “I don’t know if it’s been COVID-19 or what Ryan’s dealing with. It’s been a weird year.”
Sending all of our best vibes Trista’s way!
