Mike Johnson & Bryan Abasolo on Sperm Freezing, Plus: Why Bryan Chose to Freeze His Sperm
Natasha Parker stopped by “Talking It Out” to tell Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo about her egg freezing journey — which ultimately prompted the co-hosts to share their thoughts on sperm freezing.
“It’s something that I highly consider. I’m 33,” Mike told Bryan and Natasha. “I’m the type of man that I have to obtain my goals first, which I’m extremely close to. Thank God I’m extremely close to my goals. Then I’ll be able to pay attention to the beauty that’s in front of me.”
Jokingly referring to his age, the handsome Air Force veteran added, “It’s something that comes across my mind as well. You see the gray hair right there?”
Bryan then revealed that he froze his sperm several years ago to better ensure the possibility of having a family with wife Rachel Lindsay in the future.
“Full disclosure, I do have my sperm frozen. [It’s been] a couple years now, actually,” said the chiropractor, who married Rachel in August 2019 after the pair met on “The Bachelorette” Season 13 in 2017. “I mean, I’m 41. I was like 38 [or] 39 and I was like, ‘You know what? Let me just do this because you never know.’”
Bryan elaborated, “You want to make sure you give yourself the best chance to have healthy children and the longer I wait, I don’t want to do [negatively impact my chances]. So, I just said, ‘You know what? Let me get this out of the way.’ They actually hit me up the other day and they were like, ‘Yo, you owe this much.’ I was like, ‘All right. Swipe the card on file, baby!’”
