'Talking It Out': Aaron Clancy Explains His Drama with Ivan Hall, Plus: How His Split from Tammy Impacted His Relationship with Chelsea
Fans first met Bachelor Nation star Aaron Clancy on Season 17 of “The Bachelorette,” but Aaron hit the beaches of “Bachelor in Paradise” this summer for another chance at finding love.
Unfortunately, things haven’t worked out exactly as he’d hoped thus far, and he stopped by “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” to discuss what went down with both Tammy Ly and Chelsea Vaughn.
Bachelor Nation fans saw Tammy and Aaron hit it off in “Paradise,” until Thomas Jacobs arrived and Tammy decided to pursue that relationship.
Then, after being “burned” by that split, Aaron said he was finally ready to put drama behind him and try pursuing another woman, so he went on a one-on-one date with runway model Chelsea.
That, unfortunately, only led to more drama as Aaron got caught up in a love triangle with Chelsea and Ivan Hall.
As we saw at the end of this week’s episode and in the preview for next week, Aaron and Ivan got heated about who was going to win Chelsea’s heart (and her rose).

Aaron spoke to co-hosts Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo and explained the blowup, saying, “With Paradise, I know what I signed up for. Everyone is trying to get with someone; it’s a dating show. I’m not mad at Chelsea or mad at Ivan, it’s really just the lack of honesty.”
Aaron said that more than anything else, he was upset because he felt Ivan had lied to him when he said he wasn’t trying to “chase anyone’s rose.”
“I only get mad at one thing, and that’s disrespect. And I know I say it all the time — I’ve seen the memes — but the root cause of it is that you didn’t respect me enough to tell me the truth,” the Bachelor Nation star said.
Aaron also called Ivan out for making a comment during the episode about Aaron not having real feelings for Chelsea, saying it “felt like Ivan was trying to cover his own tracks” and “trying to bring me down.”
He admitted that the situation with Ivan and Chelsea hit him so hard because he had just gone through something similar with Tammy and Thomas.
“The Tammy thing happened, and as much as I don’t want to say it, it did some semi-permanent damage throughout my time on the show. And then when I met Chelsea and started to really think about her and catch feelings for her, I was trying really hard to open up and it was hard, but I was trying,” Aaron revealed.

The Bachelor Nation star said his emotional walls went up since he felt like he’d been burned twice.
He admitted, “You see the other couples progressing so well and you want that, but you just keep getting burned. You can’t help but spiral a little bit.”
He said that despite being tangled up in drama on Katie Thurston’s season of “The Bachelorette,” he was really hoping for a love story on the beach.
Looks like we’ll have to tune in next week to see how the drama between Ivan and Aaron unfolds!
But for now, check out the rest of Aaron’s conversation with Bryan and Mike on “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” below.
