‘Click Bait’: Joe Amabile & Natasha Parker Dish on Ivan Hall’s ‘Paradise’ Departure Drama — ‘He Got Caught Up in a Lie’
As Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise” continues to unfold, the drama only continues to heat up. This week, fans saw Ivan Hall’s departure after he was caught by a producer for sneaking out during the hotel lockdown amid the tropical storm.
Ivan eventually admitted that he snuck out to see Alexa Caves from Season 24 of “The Bachelor.” Alexa was set to come down to the beach, so she was quarantined in the same hotel as the rest of the cast while they waited for the storm to pass.
After Ivan’s departure aired, fellow “Paradise” castmates and “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” co-hosts Natasha Parker and Joe Amabile discussed the situation in detail.
Joe explained that when bartender and master of ceremonies Wells Adams pulled Ivan aside for a conversation, no one else in the cast knew what was going on.
He noted that Wells’ conversation with Ivan lasted over an hour as everyone stood there waiting for the Rose Ceremony to begin.
Joe said the whole “a producer left their phone unlocked and Ivan saw Alexa’s room number” just felt like an excuse, and Natasha agreed, saying, “I just think that regardless of someone leaving a phone open or whatever, Ivan still did the act. He still had to do it.”

But the most shocking part for Natasha was how she felt that Ivan used Chelsea Vaughn.
Everything that happened between Ivan, Chelsea, and Aaron Clancy was the day after Ivan saw Alexa, Natasha explained. In hindsight, she said, it felt like Ivan was just trying to stay to see Alexa and that “Chelsea would be chopped liver by tomorrow.”
Co-host Tayshia Adams chimed in and said as a viewer, she was glad all of this came to light, noting, “Now that we’re putting all the pieces together, Ivan wanted Chelsea’s rose because he snuck out of his room, was with a girl, and now needed to get a rose because she was about to come down and he wanted to see her. It sucks that Chelsea was obviously used in the grand scheme of things.”
Tayshia also called Ivan out for saying “love makes you do crazy things” when she thinks that he was “thinking with something else other than your heart or your love.”
And while Joe and Natasha agreed that what Ivan did was wrong, they do believe he was in “Paradise” for the right reasons and truly wanted to find love.

“In my opinion, the vibe I got from Ivan when Kendall left was that he was just checked out and over it. I think he really did want ‘Paradise’ to work for him, and I just think he got to a point where he felt like it was over for him, so he snuck out of his hotel room,” Joe explained.
Natasha concurred, adding, “I think he really wanted to make ‘Paradise’ work for him. I don’t think Ivan is this awful guy. I do think that he got caught up in a lie and we all saw that come to light in so many ways. They put out all the receipts and showed that.”
All three hosts questioned why people lie on the Bachelor franchise shows when they know they’re on camera, mic’d up, and will get caught.
But Natasha said that regardless of why Ivan lied, “I think he learned a valuable lesson, as people do when they come on these shows and their lying becomes public.”
