Former Bachelorette Becca Kufrin found love with fellow Bachelor Nation star Thomas Jacobs this summer on “Bachelor in Paradise,” and now, the new couple is stopping by the “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” podcast to talk about their relationship.

Becca discussed why things with Thomas are different from her past two public relationships, and Thomas shared why he feels like going through all the drama on “The Bachelorette” was worth it.

Becca started off by revealing why she was so nervous to go on “Bachelor in Paradise” after being the lead and why she was hesitant to fall in love again publicly.

The former Bachelorette said, “I was so scared to have any sort of public relationship again. That was one of my biggest fears. Just because it’s one thing to be in a public relationship, but I went through a public breakup. That’s the part that really scared me that I never want to go through again.”

And while she and Thomas split up at the end of “Paradise,” she said that she fell “really quickly” for him once they reconnected outside the show.

Becca explained, “I think what really did it for me was seeing him in the real world. Right when we got back from the beach, we got together and we spent time together down in San Diego.”

She continued, “At that point, it was very private because we couldn’t be out in the open. But just to see him for who he is in his daily life and his own space with his family, his dogs, his work, everything, I would say just him in general just has a calming presence for me.”

She added that she “couldn’t fight” the feelings they were both having and didn’t want to let fear get in the way of something really special.

“We tell each other we love each other, and we may have held it in for like a week or two, but it was just bursting out of me. I think it’s because of who he is, he is so supportive, he’s so funny and quirky in the cutest ways. Everything about him I just felt safe with in a way I haven’t felt in the past, and I was like, ‘This guy is my guy. I can’t let my fear of public relationships ruin what we have,’” Becca revealed.

Becca also shared why it was so important that Thomas fought for her at the end of “Paradise” even though she was trying to let him go.

“The world saw how my relationship with Arie unfolded and how that ended, which was really tough. There wasn’t much dialogue there other than him ending things on TV and that was it. And then in my past relationship with Garrett, the breakup was a lot more private, but I never felt like those two men, who we promised our lives to each other, I never felt like they were all-in ready to fight for me. Both of those breakups, there wasn’t much passion. It just ended the ways that it did,” she explained.

Becca continued, adding, “With Thomas, we didn’t know each other very long, but we just had so much feeling for one another, so when he was like, ‘Have faith in us, fight for us, leave here with me,’ hearing him say those things was so important because I had never had that. I was taken aback in that moment.”

As for Thomas, he said all the drama and criticism he faced during Season 17 of “The Bachelorette” was worth it because it led to his relationship with Becca.

The Bachelor Nation star said, “As unfortunate as it was at times and as much of a mind F it was for you guys, it was an even bigger mind F for myself. But coming out of that and seeing where we are now, I would do that a thousand times over and over again if it meant that we got to this moment where we’re sitting next to each other and getting to live our lives together.”
