While Serena Pitt famously got engaged to Joe Amabile, aka “Grocery Store Joe,” on “Bachelor in Paradise,” fans first met Serena on Season 25 of “The Bachelor.”

During her time as a contestant, Serena became close friends with fellow cast member Michelle Young, our next Bachelorette!

Serena just stopped by the “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” podcast and shared what advice she gave her friend Michelle before she started her Bachelorette journey and revealed why she thinks Michelle’s season is going to be a slam dunk.

Serena said she considers Michelle a “close friend” and that they talk on a “regular basis.”

While they didn’t get close until the end of their time on Matt’s season, Serena said their friendship continued to blossom after the show.

“I am beyond excited for her. I think every promo she looks stunning! The hair, the makeup, the fashion, her personality shines through. I think it’s going to be a great season. I’m going to watch every episode and I’m excited,” Serena raved about Michelle.

And when Serena was asked if she was nervous at all for Michelle to start her journey as Bachelorette, Serena said definitely not.

“No, Michelle is just a very steady person. She was a high-level athlete, a D1 basketball player. I just think that intense environment where it’s very demanding, both physically and emotionally, she handles it well. She handled it well on Matt’s season, and I think that she’s showing up with her goal at the end of it to find her person, and she’s going to do everything she needs to do to achieve her goal at the end of it,” Serena explained.

Now that she is happily engaged to someone she met on a Bachelor franchise show, Serena shared the advice she offered Michelle as she began her Bachelorette journey.

Serena revealed, “I came back from ‘Paradise’ and she went to film about three weeks later, so we got to chat a couple times. She and I are similar in the way we approach relationships, like I went into ‘Paradise’ skeptical and while I think she was hopeful, she was also skeptical. I said to her, ‘I wasn’t sure, and I really just leaned in and let myself go and trusted the process as much as I could and followed my heart, and it worked.’ I said, ‘I think it will for you too, but you’ve got to put the fears aside and put the heartbreak from last time aside and lean in.’”

When it comes to specific characteristics that Michelle’s future partner needs to have, Serena said, “Michelle has a big personality. She’s very playful, very fun. So, he definitely needs to have that. I could never see her with a shy, introverted guy. He definitely needs to be goofy and fun and sarcastic. She needs someone who is going to be a power couple with her. They would walk into the room and be super charismatic and carry such a presence.”

We hope Michelle finds that person, and we can’t wait to watch her journey begin to unfold starting Tuesday, October 19, on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
