Tayshia Adams Updates Fans After ‘Scary’ Medical Emergency and Hospitalization
Get well soon!
We’re sending former Bachelorette and current “Bachelorette” host Tayshia Adams love as she recovers from a frightening medical emergency.
As fans know, Tayshia ran her first marathon last weekend alongside her fiancé Zac Clark.
The Bachelor Nation couple ran the New York Marathon for causes that were important to them, and after the race Tayshia shared how her body was recovering from the 26.2-mile run.
She shared that her recovery was extremely painful, but she felt better enough to attend an event a few days later and even wear heels.
It wasn’t until Thursday, November 11, that Tayshia shared a photo of herself from a hospital bed hooked up to an IV.
At the time, it was unclear why Tayshia was hospitalized, but once she was home over the weekend, she shared an update with fans on her Instagram stories.
The former Bachelorette said she was home and was finally feeling “somewhat decent” after being diagnosed with a kidney infection. Tayshia noted that the infection wasn’t related to running the marathon, even adding that she plans to run it again next year.

Tayshia explained that on Wednesday night, she was tossing and turning due to stomach pain, which started a couple days earlier.
By Thursday morning, Tayshia said, “I couldn’t even sit up straight because I was in so much pain. Like, I was like crouching over. It was level 9.5. Then we rushed to the doctor because something in this was not right.”
Tayshia said her doctor sent her to the emergency room, revealing, “Just to make sure everything was okay, he suggested that we go to the ER just to get a CAT scan and ultrasound and all that kind of stuff, so I ended up doing that. Thankfully we were able to rule out things like my appendix or kidney stones... It just looked like it was like a really bad kidney infection, which is also not really good.”
While Tayshia almost stayed at the hospital overnight, she said she thought she’d feel better sleeping in her own bed after getting the proper medication she needed.
Thankfully, Tayshia shared that while her stomach was still “kind of wonky,” she was “getting better” over the weekend.
And as for what caused Tayshia’s condition, she said it may have to do with her not drinking enough water.
“What a week. But then a lesson I learned is honestly, I need to start drinking more water. I do not drink water, like, at all, and it’s really bad, especially after a marathon,” Tayshia said.
The Bachelor Nation star made sure fans knew she was on the “up and up” and thanked everyone for their well wishes.
We’re continuing to send Tayshia love as she heals and recovers!
