Joe Admits He Didn’t Think Bachelorette Michelle Young Would Remember Him from Their DMs
Fans met Bachelor Nation star Joe on Michelle Young’s season of “The Bachelorette,” and while their love story is still unfolding, Joe stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast for a chat.
Joe spoke with co-host Tayshia Adams about his time on the show, including his very first night when Michelle recognized him from their previous interaction.
As fans know, it became a point of contention on the show that Joe and Michelle had briefly messaged on Instagram around a year ago before he stopped responding to her messages.
Michelle and Joe had a conversation about the “ghosting” on the very first night, but that didn’t stop it from stirring up drama among the other suitors.
Thankfully, it seems like Joe and Michelle are way past that now, but Tayshia had to ask if he thought Michelle was going to remember him.

Joe started off telling Tayshia that he was so nervous to be there that night he wasn’t thinking about it at first, saying, “I can easily say being in the limo waiting was the most nervous I’ve been in my life. There have been a lot of games where the game is on the line and I’m at the free throw line, but nothing compares to ‘The Bachelorette’ first night.”
But when it came to if Michelle would remember him, Joe was sure she wouldn’t.
“No, I didn’t think she would remember me. I thought it would be a topic of conversation later on, not necessarily right then and there at that moment,” the Bachelor Nation star said.
Joe said he was caught off guard when Michelle called him right away, but he said, “I was already freaking out, so that was just more on top of it, but I’m glad we had that conversation and we nipped it in the bud right there.”
The two went on to have more serious conversations, and Joe says he actually thinks it helped their relationship develop.
And based on how their one-on-one date went last night, it’s clear Joe and Michelle have an undeniable connection.
