Nayte Reveals Why He Loves Michelle and Shares How ‘The Bachelorette’ Changed His Family
Bachelor Nation fans saw Nayte propose to Michelle on the season finale of “The Bachelorette” earlier this week.
Now, Nayte stopped by the “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” podcast to discuss his time on the show and his love for his fiancée Michelle.
Co-hosts Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo asked Nayte about his connection with Michelle and why it’s so special.
Nayte candidly said, “The way that we talk with each other and the types of conversations we have. I’ve never felt so comfortable with a woman before so quickly and so naturally. You know when you’re doing a puzzle and you have one piece left and how satisfying it is to put that last piece in? That’s kind of how it felt that first conversation we had. That’s how I felt. I felt like putting that last piece in the puzzle and everything jelled together.”
They also asked the Bachelor Nation star what he loves about his fiancée, and Nayte shared that sometimes it’s too much to put into words and that’s why he struggled to communicate on the show.
He explained, “There is so much I love about her. When you’re falling in love with somebody and you need to put that into a quick sentence, it doesn’t do it service. I think that’s why I get flustered when trying to explain my feelings. These are some complex feelings.”

Nayte continued, “What is it about Michelle? We could talk about the way we look at each other, the way she smiles, the way her mind works, the way she laughs, the way she challenges me, or the way we are both so goal-oriented, but talking about it doesn’t always do it justice for me.”
And while he sometimes had trouble communicating on the show, Nayte shared that he and Michelle have made communication a priority since leaving Mexico.
He revealed, “The last two, three months since we left Mexico, we have both become much better communicators. That’s what you have to do with everything going on and everything people are saying. We talked about previous relationships; that’s actually the majority of what we talked about during the overnights. We talked about past relationships, what we learned, and personal flaws. I told her I wanted this to be the best relationship. I’ve learned from past relationships and I know I could’ve done better, so I want there to be nonstop communication and trust and honesty. I want this to be forever.”
Bryan and Mike also asked Nayte about the emotional conversation we saw between him and his stepdad Charles during his Hometown date.
Nayte said, “That was the most emotional day I’ve had in a while. It was a lot more than just what you saw on TV. The way they pieced it together wasn’t necessarily how it all went down. That was a lot longer. I have a complicated family, so it was good to let Charles know how I feel about him. It was a strong moment between us and I’m happy that happened.”
Nayte shared that he went into “The Bachelorette” experience with an open mind and didn’t expect much, but he was surprised by how quickly he fell in love with Michelle and grew as a person from the experience.
