Natasha Parker Discusses Her Conversation with Maurissa Gunn About Her Breakup with Riley Christian
As Bachelor Nation fans know, “Bachelor in Paradise” couple Maurissa Gunn and Riley Christian have split up.
The two announced they were ending their engagement earlier this week in an exclusive statement to People.
The statement reads, “We have decided to go our separate ways. Never did we imagine this, but we’ve come to a point where we both need to work on ourselves.”
The former couple continued, “We’ve appreciated everyone’s love and support so far throughout our journey and we just ask that you please respect our privacy as we navigate through this.”
Now, on the “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” podcast, co-host Natasha Parker discussed her recent conversation with Maurissa about the split.
Tia Booth started off the conversation by sharing, “We’re sad. You always hope it is just a rumor and not real, but they did officially announce their breakup. Props to them for addressing it and just saying they needed to work on themselves.”

And Natasha chimed in, saying, “I finally talked to Maurissa the other day. I was giving her some space and thought she’d call me when she was ready to talk. She just told me that there was so much that happened between them that they wanted to keep private between each other. She did clarify that they broke up a little while ago and the reason they took so long to say something was that they wanted to both be sure that they wanted to go their separate ways.”
Joe Amabile asked if Maurissa told Natasha why she and Riley split, and Natasha shared what she thought based on her conversation with Maurissa.
Natasha said, “I think they just have very different lives, from my understanding of what she was saying. She was completely integrated into his life and missed her family and friends. The distance made it hard and moving to New York is not easy. It’s a hard city and Maurissa is originally from Montana and lives in Atlanta now.”
Natasha continued, “I look at the other couples from our ‘Paradise’ season and those two jumped right in compared to everyone else as far as living together goes. I know you and Serena are back and forth and you spend a lot of time together, but she put her all in and it didn’t work out. She said she has no regrets and I think that’s a beautiful thing.”
