Hannah Godwin Shares Advice to ‘Paradise’ Hopefuls About Starting Relationships Beforehand
“Bachelor in Paradise” is just around the corner!
It was announced last week that “Bachelor in Paradise” will officially be back for Season 8 this summer.
Now as Bachelor Nation stars get excited about potentially going to the beach, “Paradise” alumni Hannah Godwin has some advice for the “Paradise” hopefuls.
Hannah stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast and discussed the trend of starting relationships and conversations with other “Paradise” hopefuls before heading to Mexico.
Last season, couples Brendan Morais and Pieper James and Chris Conran and Alana Milne faced backlash for beginning their relationships before the show.
But they weren’t the first couples to run into this kind of drama. On Season 6 of “BIP,” Hannah witnessed the drama surrounding Blake Horstmann’s relationships prior to the show.
So now Hannah is sharing her thoughts on all things pre-“Paradise” relationships.

The Bachelor Nation star said, “Don’t reply if someone slides into your DMs. I think that’s the best way to do it. But then there’s that weird thing where you want to be friends and you’re a part of this new crew. So you may not know if it’s a friendly thing or what because you may even have a little bit of a crush. I think there’s just too much room for error if you’re talking to someone too much and that sketchy wondering if they’re going to choose you in ‘Paradise.’ That is just why you shouldn’t do it.”
Hannah continued on, sharing that her fiancé, who she got engaged to on the show, actually even tried talking to her before the show, but she didn’t want to mess up either of their experiences by starting a relationship beforehand.
Hannah said, “Even Dylan would DM me occasionally and stuff. I remembered that he seemed funny and cool, but I wanted us to go in open. It’s tough, though, because you sign up for the experience because you’re single and interested in these people, so I get it, but the advice I would give is don’t start a relationship beforehand. There’s just too much potential for people’s feelings to get hurt. A quick hello and hug and an ‘I’ll see you there!’ is what I’d do.”
And clearly that worked for Hannah and Dylan, as the two are still going strong and are planning their wedding.
