Love is in the air!

Kendall Long captured the hearts of Bachelor Nation fans during her time on “The Bachelor” and “Bachelor in Paradise.”

And since her time on the shows, Kendall has kept her hundreds of thousands of followers up to date with her life on social media.

She shares everything from interesting science news to photos of her adorable dog Pistachio and everything in between.

And earlier this month, she revealed that she’d found love off-screen with her boyfriend Mitch Sage!

Now, Kendall and Mitch are sitting down exclusively with BachelorNation.com for their first interview as a couple.

Bachelor Nation: Kendall, we’re so happy to see you so happy, and Mitch, it’s so nice to meet you! Can you tell us how you two met?

Kendall Long: We met through a mutual friend at a pregame party!

Mitch Sage: I play volleyball with our mutual friend, and we were all going out that night in Hermosa Beach. We got a bunch of people together and Kendall and I met there. Thankfully, the party was pretty low-key, so we could really talk without any loud music or anything.

KL: Yes, we could really discuss things!

BN: So sweet! How long ago did you meet?

KL: It was right before Christmas and the day before Mitch’s birthday, actually! The thing that made me really attracted to him right off the bat was we were talking about aliens and space and I was talking about this moon off of Jupiter that could potentially harbor alien life. And he was like, ‘That’s Europa.’ And I was so surprised he knew the name of that moon! It’s rare that I meet someone that’s as interested in certain things like science as I am.

BN: Love that! What about taxidermy, though, Mitch; how do you feel about Kendall’s love for taxidermy?

MS: (Laughs) I prefer live animals, but I think it’s really cool to see animals in a way you don’t normally get to.

BN: Absolutely makes sense! Any exciting plans coming up for you two?

KL: Yes! We’re taking our first trip together abroad to the U.K., and I heard you learn a lot about someone when you travel with them. I’m really interested to see how we’re going to do! I’m excited to see how our traveling dynamic is together. And I’ve never been to Ireland or Scotland before, so we’re just looking forward to seeing all the greenery and hiking!

BN: That sounds amazing! We can’t wait to follow along on your adventures. Ok, important question, Mitch, how has Kendall’s dog Pistachio taken to you?

MS: I think we get along really well! He likes to play and I’m always doing something active, so if I’m passing a ball around, he’ll jump in there and try to play.

KL: He loves you! And shortly after we met, Pistachio had to have emergency spine surgery for IVDD [intervertebral disc disease] and Mitch came with me for the first time I saw him after his surgery. He’s been so incredibly kind every step of the way with that. So now Pistachio will run to go hang out with Mitch instead of me. He really likes him!

BN: Sounds like he has Pistachio’s paw print of approval! What would you say is your favorite thing about one another?

KL: My favorite thing about Mitch is that it’s so rare to find somebody that challenges me the way he does. If I believe something, he always asks why I believe it and challenges me in a lot of different ways. He doesn’t always agree with me right away or he’ll play devil’s advocate, but it’s really fun to challenge each other in that way. We’ll have random hours long discussions over random, fun, obscure topics, so it’s never, ever boring. I just feel like he mentally stimulates me beyond anyone I’ve ever met.

MS: And for me, I just think Kendall is extremely genuine, one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met. I’ve never met anyone who aligns so well with the way they think, talk, and act. She’s so consistent in who she is and it’s really impressive.

BN: Those are really sweet answers. Mitch, had you ever watched Kendall on Bachelor Nation shows before meeting her?

MS: No, never! I’d never seen her on any of the shows.

BN: What’s been the craziest part of getting into the world of Bachelor Nation since meeting Kendall?

MS: It’s crazy how many people know her! I mean she’s super friendly and has tons of friends as is, but seeing how sweet she is to random people who recognize her, that’s new for me. I prefer to hide in the background. I like to be at the beach, and I’m really laid back. I’m not really used to the hubbub of the city, but there’s just always something exciting going on with Kendall. Not only because she’s been on the Bachelor Nation shows but because she has a great personality. So it’s been really unique and fun!

BN: That’s great to hear! Is there anything else you two are looking forward to as a couple right now?

KL: Well, we already met each other’s parents and it went really well! And now I text his mom a lot.

MS: (Laughs) Yes, she does, even more than I do!

KL: But in the short term, we’ve been dating for a while and haven’t done so many little things like gone to a movie theater together. And we’re excited about going to Disneyland together too! My dad works for Disney and my parents do this thing called the Disneyland test where we take people we date to Disneyland. So Mitch is going to have to do the Disneyland test and he’s probably afraid of going to Disneyland with my family now (laughs). But we take it very seriously!
