Rachel Lindsay & Bryan Abasolo Talk Family Planning and Balancing Family and Career
Could another Bachelor Nation baby be coming soon?!
Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo famously found love and got engaged on Season 13 of “The Bachelorette.”
The two have since gotten married and live in Los Angeles together with their dog.
Since their time on the show, Rachel has become an extremely successful television and podcast host, and even wrote her own book.
Bryan has also opened his own chiropractic clinic and hosts the “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” podcast.
Now, Rachel stopped by “Talking It Out,” where she and Bryan candidly discussed balancing family planning with their thriving careers.
While the two definitely want to have children, Rachel opened up, saying, “It’s not fair. It really isn’t, because we have to make a choice that the other side doesn’t if you want children. Not all women want children, but if you do want children or a family, you have to at some point make a choice. There is a fear of losing what I started or if people will want to hire me after that. Of course there’s legal in place where that’s not supposed to happen, but let’s be honest, you know it does.”

Rachel continued on, saying that this is something she’s dealing with right now and it’s been challenging.
The TV host said, “It’s a really scary thought. I’m dealing with that right now. I’m strategically in my mind trying to plan out when could be the best time. Then you take your time doing that and realize it might not be as easy as you thought. You can’t be like, ‘July 2022, I want to make this happen,’ when it could be a lot more difficult.”
Rachel also discussed how getting pregnant isn’t always easy and mentioned their fellow Bachelor Nation stars Astrid Loch and Kevin Wendt, who welcomed their son August earlier this year.
Rachel said, “They’ve been outspoken about this. Astrid and Kevin, who are very good friends of ours, had to go through the IVF process to have children. It didn’t happen as naturally or easily as they thought it would. It’s something that as you get older as a woman, you think about all the time. It’s just so unfair. You want it, but then you feel selfish in certain ways because you want your career, but also want to start a family. I see a lot of women who are able to do both, so I don’t want to make it seem like you can’t have both.”
Rachel said she’s learned from a lot of working moms that there is no right time or perfect time, you just have to do it.
Bryan’s “Talking It Out” co-host Mike Johnson asked if there will be little ones around soon for Rachel and Bryan, and both of them said they are “already taking steps.”
How exciting!
Bryan chimed in as well, saying that while there’s never an easy or perfect time to have kids, they are ready to adapt.

The Bachelor Nation star said, “In life, things change, and you have to adapt. Like Rachel said, there’s evidence out there of women that are successful like her who have done it as well. That also ties in to me, because I am going to have to step up what I’m doing because I have my own career as well. I’m going to have to step up and help her and pick up the slack. I am ready for that, but even if I wasn’t ready, you just gotta be ready. I’ll be ready when it happens. I don’t think anybody is really ever ready for it, but maybe baby after baby, it gets easier.”
And the couple went on to discuss how many kids they hope to have one day.
Rachel said, “I did want four, but we’ve gotta cut back now. I’m 37. But I’m telling y’all, if you don’t think I’m going to be one of those people who straps that baby to my back to do interviews, I’m gonna be moving! Our parents did it. M mom worked, Bryan, your mom worked, they did it and made it happen. I know I can. It’s just a matter of taking those steps to do it. It’s scary.”
We are excited for Rachel and Bryan whenever that day comes, and we know that their candidness and honesty about this topic will help others going through something similar.
