Celebrating Father’s Day!

Bachelor Nation fan-favorite couple Adam Gottschalk and Raven Gates Gottschalk welcomed their first child together earlier this year.

Since Gates was born in January of this year, the couple has been sharing their life as new parents on social media with their millions of followers.

And now, Adam is stopping by to chat with BachelorNation.com exclusively about his very first Father’s Day.

Bachelor Nation: Happy Father’s Day, Adam, and congrats on your beautiful baby boy! What has life been like since welcoming Gates?

Adam Gottschalk: Totally different than I had imagined — in the best way. The days are slow and the months are fast! Little man is growing so quickly and learning new skills each day. We’ve already flown with him three times and he’s taking it like a pro.

BN: That’s incredible! What has surprised you most about fatherhood so far?

AG: Patience, patience, patience!

BN: Yes, patience is definitely crucial. What has been your favorite part of fatherhood so far?

AG: The smiles, memories, and bath times with the little man.

BN: Those sweet moments are so precious! How would you say fatherhood has changed you?

AG: It has taught me that everyone started as a little human and raised to where they are now. It’s not about you anymore, it’s about your child and family.

BN: Absolutely. What milestones are you most looking forward to in the future?

AG: Gates just started to giggle a couple of weeks ago and that was really cool. I’m looking forward to walking and conversing with him as he keeps getting older.

BN: Yes, those are some special ones! What does being a dad mean to you?

AG: Keep being the provider for your child and family. A role model and best friend to your child.

BN: And as a dad, what do you hope to teach your child?

AG: It’s funny because I can’t stop thinking about where Gates will be in 10 years... I think about conversations about school, life, fixing things, and being a leader... on and off the sports field :)

BN: Amazing! It’s all going to be so fun as he grows. Do you have any advice for fellow new parents?

AG: Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Family and friends are everything. Don’t feel bad if they offer help to watch the baby while you and your significant other need to get things done. Also, get back to normalcy as fast as you can. Being stuck in a house or apartment can really take a toll on you. Get out and get fresh air, run errands, etc. — with or without the baby.

BN: That is great advice. And last but not least, would you let Gates watch your Bachelor Nation journey one day?

AG: I would! It’s part of Raven and I’s history of how we met. More importantly, it’s how our life has unfolded after the show.
