Mike & Bryan Join the ‘Click Bait’ Crew to Share Advice for Gabby & Rachel’s Men
Some words of wisdom!
The highly anticipated season of “The Bachelorette” is premiering on Monday July 11, and fans can’t wait to see Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia’s love stories unfold.
And as we get excited for the season to kick off, the “Talking It Out” co-hosts Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo joined the “Click Bait” crew to discuss the show.
Joe Amabile, Natasha Parker and Tia Booth asked Mike and Bryan if they had any advice for Gabby and Rachel’s guys as they begin to watch their journey back alongside millions of fans.
Bryan started off saying, “My advice would be to stay off Twitter. I got killed on Twitter that first night and I thought I did amazing. I got the First Impression Rose, but Twitter disagreed that I should’ve.”
Mike said that the online negativity actually didn’t bother him too much, sharing, “The hate didn’t bother me until they started coming for things I really care about. That’s what made me emotional. But like when they called me ugly, I could care less. When it came to how I was perceived just from strictly ‘The Bachelorette,’ that didn’t get to me.”

But Mike did have some advice for when the show starts airing! “Don’t go up to people and say, ‘Do you know who I am?’”
And Bryan agreed, adding, “Go back to your normal life. Seamlessly transition back into what you were doing and don’t let all this clout get to you about being on the show. I feel like a lot of people make that mistake. I was given that advice for when we got off the show.”
Joe also chimed in with his own advice. “My advice is to go into watching the show proud of yourself for taking a chance for putting yourself out there and doing it,” he said. “You may look like an idiot, but — oh, well.”
He added, “You should also enjoy the ride. Not everyone gets lucky, but some people do get lucky and I was one of them. You do have to enjoy that ride. It’s a lot of fun.”
And if you don’t have a positive experience watching the show back, Joe reminded the guys, “No matter how bad it seems, it’s not the end of the world. It’s just a show. It’s only one side of you because people can only see so much. So don’t be too hard on yourself, have some fun. You’re on one of the biggest shows that’s pretty cool!”
As someone who ended up marrying his Bachelorette, Bryan had some advice for the guys who make it to the end.
He said, “For those guys that make it far, know that Gabby and Rachel will have relationships with other guys and you may see things that you may not want to see on camera. You’ve got to compartmentalize that and know that everyone’s journey is different. They have to navigate a bunch of different relationships. This is what you signed up for.”
