Sarah Herron Shares Tip for Sharing Pregnancy News with a Friend Who’s Struggling to Conceive
Bachelor Nation first met Sarah Herron on Season 17 of “The Bachelor,” and she returned to our screens for Seasons 1 and 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Since her time on the Bachelor Nation shows, Sarah has been extremely open with fans about important topics like fertility, egg freezing, limb differences, and mental health.
And throughout the past couple years, Sarah has been particularly open about her and fiancé Dylan’s egg freezing, fertilization, and embryo transfer process.
Now, Sarah is taking to Instagram to share an important message for people who know someone who has been struggling to conceive.
Sarah wrote, “My friends recently asked me how I’d prefer they broach the subject of when they get pregnant and this is what I came up with. Obviously I’m SO excited for my friends when they find out they’re pregnant, but it also makes me sad, and in a weird way I feel slightly abandoned each time.”

The Bachelor Nation star went on, saying, “Many emotions exist at once, which is why I’d prefer to have time to gather my feelings in private before responding — and never in person if possible. If you’re wondering how to share your big news with a friend experiencing infertility, everyone is different but here are my suggestions: Keep it short and simple. Don’t downplay your joy. Acknowledge your friends journey. Offer compassion and love.”
And alongside her message, Sarah posted a video and wrote that you also have permission to let your friend know in a text.
She said, “Being face-to-face puts pressure on people to emote in a certain way. And we don’t want to cry when you’re sharing your big news.”
Sarah shared an example of a text you could send to a friend in this situation, writing, “Hi! I want to tell you that I’m pregnant. I know this is hard. I’m still here for you and I’m grateful we have each other. I love you!”

Many of Sarah’s fellow Bachelor Nation stars flooded the comments of her post, thanking her for this helpful tip and for her honesty throughout her fertility journey.
Lesley Murphy wrote, “So incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for sharing and for continuing to share your most vulnerable stories with us.”
And Catherine Giudici Lowe added, “Super helpful, great advice!”
We know that Sarah continuing to share all the ups and downs that have come with her IVF journey with her hundreds of thousands of followers will help others going through a similar experience.
