He said, “As soon as we got the one-on-one time after I got the group date rose, I knew it was something I wanted to talk to her about. At the time I was only 25. I am 26 now, but I wanted to make sure she knew that this ended with an engagement for me. I knew that I had gotten there before with someone else and knew that was what I always wanted in my life. My dream has always been to meet the person I would spend the rest of my life with and be a dad.”
Tyler went on, explaining, “Just because of my age doesn’t mean that I’m not emotionally ready for that. I went in there and told her about my past and told her that there was someone who I was fully prepared to get down on one knee for. I even bought a house for us to live in, so I was ready to take that step before.”
And while healing from that breakup was tough for Tyler for a year and a half, he said he knew he was ready to put himself back out there.
He said, “I wanted her to know that now I was ready for something like that and I’m not scared to take that leap with the right person.”

Tyler also opened up about getting to read the poem he wrote for Rachel and how their group date went as well as he could’ve imagined.
He said, “At this point, I felt really really good. I had a really good connection with Rachel and the entire night went perfectly to me. I got the chance to read the poem I wrote for her the night before. It just felt like we were both in our feelings and we were able to open up to each other. That is why I was there, and this was exactly how I saw my future with Rachel by having these conversations.”
