This Week in Bachelor Nation History: Aaron Buerge Begins His Journey as the Season 2 Bachelor
Throwing it back!
This week in Bachelor Nation history, we’re throwing it back to the early days of “The Bachelor.”
Believe it or not, Season 2 of the beloved show premiered this week 20 years ago. You read that right — 20 YEARS!
And the leading man for Season 2 of “The Bachelor” was Aaron Buerge, a Missouri native and third-generation banker.
In the first episode of the season, Aaron is introduced to 25 lovely women, among them a flight attendant, a teacher, an attorney, a school psychologist, a public relations representative and a recording artist.
Aaron kicks off his journey at a sprawling Malibu, California, seaside home where he hosts a cocktail party and meets the dynamic ladies who share his desire to find true love.
As the night begins, he shares why he is excited to be the Bachelor, saying, “I’ve been really active when it comes to dating and looking for Mrs. Right, so the timing for this couldn’t have been better for me. I’m at a point in my life where I want to share it with someone.”
Aaron went on, saying, “These women have a lot going for them. They are outgoing and adventurous. This is a much bigger pool of people than I’d ever have the opportunity to meet being from Missouri. Hopefully, I am what these women are looking for because it’s also about them getting to know me.”
He spends the night getting to know the 25 women, but at the end of the night, Aaron only has 15 roses to hand out to the women he would like to continue to get to know better.
The franchise has come a long way over the past 20 years, but it’s always fun to look back to the early days and see how much has changed!
