Aaron Clancy Dishes on His Unexpected Double Date and Teases What to Expect from the Rest of ‘Paradise’
Spilling the tea!
Fans met Aaron Clancy on Season 17 of “The Bachelorette,” and he returned for Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Now, Aaron is back on the beaches of “Paradise” again for Season 8 and he’s opening up about his experience on the “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” podcast.
Co-hosts Joe Amabile, Natasha Parker, and Tia Booth asked Aaron about his unexpected double date with Genevieve and Shanae, who famously went on the two-on-one date on “The Bachelor.”
Aaron said, “They didn’t show it, but I made it clear to Shanae that I wasn’t interested in dating her. She seemed to respect that. I didn’t think she was going to try going for me again or anything. James is a stud and he was interested, so I think she would be a complete fool if she didn’t focus on that.”

He went on, sharing, “I was never worried about them both being interested in me on the date; I was potentially worried about Genevieve beefing and it messing up the date. I know she can tend to focus on that stuff a little bit. I was worried, but I thought the best approach was to let James and my chemistry and goofy ability to lighten the scenario take control. That overran any sort of beef.”
The “Click Bait” co-hosts asked Aaron if he and James discussed bringing Shanae and Genevieve on the double date and Aaron said he was as surprised as we were.
“We did talk about who we were going to pick, but he never mentioned Shanae. I was shocked. That came out of left field for me too,” he explained.
Thankfully, the date ended up going well and the drama between Shanae and Genevieve was left in the past.

Aaron also teased what fans can expect from the rest of this season of “Paradise” and revealed how this time around was different for him.
He said, “Going into it a second time, I am less reactionary. I am less impulsive, which is good. That’s been awesome. The people there would ask me for advice and how to handle situations. They would ask what would happen that day. I would just say there is a lot that happens. It’s going to be epic. There are some downhill spirals that you guys will have to watch.”
We’ll have to tune in on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC to see how it all unfolds.
