Rodney stopped by the “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” podcast and opened up about how hard Nayte took the breakup.
Co-hosts Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo asked how Nayte is doing now, and Rodney got candid with his answer.
He said, “Nayte is doing good. Honestly, as you guys can imagine, during the breakup, it was really tough. It was tough to see my boy so sad and down. He was really depressed. Nayte and I share a lot of similarities in terms of being a regular person being thrown into the spotlight. On our season, he was in the biggest spotlight.”
Rodney went on, saying, “I think seeing his name being thrown around so often with so much slander and lies was really sad to see. He took it all to heart. I tried my hardest to help him out by saying that it’s going to be okay and these people don’t actually know you. He was seeing all the comments and DMs and these people don’t know who he really is. No one truly knows the full situation.”
So Rodney did his best to be there for Nayte as a friend through it all.
He said, “I tried my hardest to be sympathetic and lift his spirits up because it was sad when people throw out your name so often lying and not fully understanding the situation. That’s really sad to see. I’m glad that he’s doing a lot better now than he was before. I don’t like to see anyone in my circle, especially someone I consider a brother, really sad and depressed like that off of lies.”
