Joe Amabile & Serena Pitt Reveal Plans for Their Wedding Celebration and Answer Marriage Questions
Answering your burning questions!
Bachelor Nation fans saw Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile find love and get engaged on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise” last summer.
Then, last week, the two shocked fans with their surprise courthouse wedding video they posted on social media.
Now, the newly married couple sat down for a Q&A on their YouTube channel, where they answered fan questions about their marriage.
Joe started off the vlog saying, “We got married! But we are still planning a wedding for next September, so I put up a Q&A box on Instagram after surprising you guys with our courthouse wedding. A lot of you had questions, which was fair, and we wanted to answer them for you.”
One of the first questions they answered was whether Serena is planning on changing her last name to Joe’s last name.

Joe said, “I have a mouthy, hard-to-say last name, kind of — Amabile. When we did a virtual meeting, they asked if Serena was taking my last name and she is.”
Serena added, “It overwhelmed me in the moment about having to change all my paperwork and driver’s license and they said yeah, you have to do that. But I’ve been Serena Pitt my whole life! So the plan is we kept our names for now and we’ll change my last name when we get married next year at our wedding ceremony.”
Joe also added they feel the same way about wedding bands and will be saving those for their wedding ceremony next year.
Serena addressed the rumors about why they decided to get married, saying, “A lot of people did ask if I was pregnant, which makes sense, I guess. People were wondering if we had a shotgun wedding because I was pregnant, but I’m not pregnant.”
And while they are now officially husband and wife, Serena said their relationship still feels the same.
She said, “I feel like because we were already committed to each other for life, the marriage didn’t change that. Our relationship doesn’t feel any different. I feel the same level of commitment now that we’re married. I have accidentally called you my fiancé multiple times this week, though.”

The couple also teased some details about their September 2023 wedding day, with Joe saying, “The wedding is going to be in the U.S. and we picked a wedding planner. We are vlogging the entire experience, from actually choosing a venue to doing food tastings and everything else.”
And Serena spilled a little more tea on their potential wedding venue location.
She said, “It’s going to be destination for both of us, so it’s not in Chicago or New York. We’ve narrowed it down to about three different places — Charleston, South Carolina; Austin, Texas; and Nashville, Tennessee.”
She shared that she’s going wedding dress shopping later this month in Canada with her mom, dad, and sister.
And Joe and Serena both shared that they will only have her sister and his brother in their wedding party serving as their maid of honor and best man.
