This Week in Bachelor Nation History: Bachelorette Michelle Young’s ‘Top Gun’ Date Flies High

This week in Bachelor Nation history, we’re looking back on an iconic Bachelorette date.
Michelle Young took her men on a “Top Gun: Maverick” date that will go down in Bachelor Nation history as one of the most memorable group dates.
Michelle was joined by Glen Powell and Jay Ellis, who pushed the guys out of their comfort zone and into the danger zone.
Rick, Nayte, Peter, Will, Clayton, Joe, Olu, Martin, Spencer, and LT suited up and were put to the test.
They started the date off by each of the guys getting their own call sign, aka their specialized nicknames.
Then they got into a push-up challenge and high knees challenge.
Then came the G4 simulator, where the men made their heads spin while trying to tell Michelle their true feelings about her.
Will stood out despite his extreme motion sickness and then he even went on to beat Peter in the giant Q-tip fight.
Tensions continued to rise for Will and Peter when Will took home the prize and won the group date.
Will won a special “Top Gun” bomber jacket and extra time with Michelle in a vintage car from “Top Gun: Maverick.”
During the night portion of the date, Peter stirred up even more drama by throwing Will’s new jacket into the pool.
Will was crushed by Peter’s actions and said, “I was hurt beyond words. I earned that jacket. That jacket was mine. And not only was it mine but there was meaning behind it. It meant that through any obstacle Michelle and I go through in life, I’m going to be there for her to overcome that. And Peter had to ruin it. He really took it too far. This man is really pushing my buttons, man.”
Eventually Martin ended up getting the group date rose and got more time with Michelle as they danced to a private concert by a string quartet.
