EXCLUSIVE: Joe Amabile & Serena Pitt Discuss Wedding Planning and Share Advice for ‘Paradise’ Couples
Newlyweds are opening up!
Bachelor Nation fans saw Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile find love and get engaged on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise” last summer.
Then, last month, the two shocked fans with their surprise courthouse wedding video they posted on social media.
And while they are already legally married, Joe and Serena shared that they are still planning a big wedding celebration for September 2023.
Now, Joe and Serena are sitting down exclusively with BachelorNation.com to discuss all things wedding planning and more!
Bachelor Nation: First of all, BIG congrats to you two on getting married! Now for wedding planning: What has been your favorite part of planning so far?
Serena Pitt: Thank you so much! Our favorite part of the wedding planning process so far is yet to come. I think our favorite part will be the design, décor, vibe, and food. Right now, we’re still in the beginning of venue hunting.

Joe Amabile: I would say venue hunting has been my favorite part so far, though. It has been really fun to look at all the different venues. We’re going to travel to all the different venues to see them in person in Nashville, Charleston, and Austin. Those are all such fun places to potentially get married.
BN: Yes, venue hunting is so fun! Are there any reasons why you are looking at those three cities in particular?
SP: We have no connection to any of those cities yet. We actually opted to do somewhere that wasn’t Chicago, Toronto, or New York. We wanted something really neutral that all of our friends and family can travel to so it feels equal. It will become really special and meaningful because that city will then be where we got married.
BN: Love that! Have either of you thought about what you want to wear for the big day yet?
JA: I want to wear a classic tux, black tie, just black and white. It depends a bit on the venue. If the venue calls for something a little more dressed down, then I would maybe go for a suit.
SP: I have recently become really interested in wearing a long-sleeve dress which is ironic because we’re looking at the hottest places ever to get married. We’ll see, I have no idea! I am petite, so I don’t think I’ll be wearing a big ball gown. I can’t pull that off. Once we have our venue, I can pick the dress that’s both my style and it matches the vibe of the venue. I’m going dress shopping later this month!

BN: So exciting! What are you most excited about for the wedding day?
SP: The best part of our engagement party was having all of our friends and family in one room. Everyone was having so much fun and we can’t wait to recreate that for our wedding!
BN: And has there been a hard part of planning so far?
SP: The guest list has been the hardest part so far. Our goal would be to have around 150 people, which is a solid number especially since we’re doing destination. It’s just hard picking and choosing!
BN: Guest lists are so tough! Okay, so we’re all watching Season 8 of “Bachelor in Paradise” unfold. Do you have any advice to the couples that end up coming off the show together?
JA: My advice for the couples that come off ‘Paradise’ this season is if you want it to work, you’ll make it work. It should be enjoyable.
SP: It shouldn’t be really hard. If anything, coming off the show and dating should be easier. It should be fun, exciting, and enjoyable. And the most important thing you can do is prioritize your relationship because there can be a lot of distractions and opportunities coming off the show. The best thing we did was put our relationship first the entire time.
BN: That’s some great advice! Thank you both and congrats again! Can’t wait for your big day next year.
