EXCLUSIVE: Pieper James Shares Her Favorite Friendsgiving Recipe and Traditions
Celebrate the holidays with Bachelor Nation!
Fans got to know Pieper James on Season 25 of “The Bachelor” and Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
And now, the Bachelor Nation star is sitting down with BachelorNation.com for an exclusive interview about her favorite Friendsgiving foods and traditions.
Check out Pieper’s entire interview — including the secret recipe for her favorite baked green bean dish — below!
Bachelor Nation: Do you have a favorite Friendsgiving recipe to make?
Pieper James: I have two favorite things to make! Every year it’s tradition for me to make the gravy with my grandma. No matter what, even if i’m not home for Thanksgiving, she’ll call me and tell me she’s making the gravy. Now, I can’t share that secret recipe, but (!) I can share my baked green bean recipe! Here it is below!
Ingredients:
1 bag of green beans with the stems removed
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of onion powder
3 shakes of everything but the bagel seasoning
1/2 teaspoon of Goya (add more for more salt)
and pepper
Instructions:
Bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes and there you have a perfect green side dish to your Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving meal!

BN: Sounds so delicious! What is the best Thanksgiving food and why?
PJ: I’m a pescatarian and a potato girl, so all meat dishes are off the table. I love mashed potatoes with my grandma’s gravy and sweet potatoes! You definitely won’t find me skipping dessert at Thanksgiving. For that, I’m going in for a piece of pumpkin or pecan pie. (I guess I have a bit of a ‘things that start with p’ theme ha!)
BN: Oooh yum! We love dessert too. Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving/Friendsgiving tradition with your family and/or friends?
PJ: Our family tradition centers on going to my grandparents’ house and spending the time helping my grandma cook and eating as a family! We’ve been trying our best to stick to this tradition, but since our family is all over the place, we’ve had to settle for a FaceTime Thanksgiving call. It’s not the same, but it’s still nice to talk to everyone and keep the tradition alive as much as we can.
BN: Ah yes, you’re not alone there! What are you thankful for this year?
PJ: I’m thankful for those closest to me: family, friends, and my loving boyfriend Brendan. It’s just nice to know whatever the situation is, I always have someone to turn to.

BN: How sweet! Is there a dish from your family’s background/culture that you incorporate into Thanksgiving?
PJ: Not really! My dad doesn’t cook, so we don’t have any Panamanian dishes to incorporate into Thanksgiving. We save those dishes for when we go to visit family!
BN: Thank you for sharing your Thanksgiving/Friendsgiving traditions! Happy holidays, Pieper!
