Becca Tilley Shares the Hardest Part About Coming Out and If She Wishes She Had Done It Sooner

In May, Bachelor Nation star Becca Tilley confirmed her longtime relationship with singer Hayley Kiyoko in Hayley’s “Bachelorette”-themed music video.
Since then, the two have been sharing more and more of their relationship on social media after keeping their relationship private for their first four years together.
Now, Becca is opening up in an Instagram Q&A about her coming out journey and whether she wishes she had shared their relationship sooner.
One fan asked Becca for advice and wondered about the most difficult thing she’s faced during her coming out.

Becca candidly shared, “Having hard conversations and responses from people I love. I don’t go into details about it because it’s just complicated and maybe I’ll write a book or something about it one day, but just know my situation hasn’t been all rainbows and butterflies. You’re not alone if the coming out process was/is hard and complicated!”
Another fan asked Becca whether she wishes she came out sooner after receiving so much love and support from fans.
The Bachelor Nation star said, “I don’t necessarily wish I had done it sooner because I think the timing of it is why I felt ready, but had I known I would’ve received so much love and support- I wish I had just relaxed more.”

She went on, saying, “I was so stressed about how people were going to respond and I wish I could’ve just told myself ‘Hey when you’re ready, they’re going to be there.’”
One fan asked Becca how she’s doing now, and she got real about having an off day.
She said, “In the grand scheme of things I am WONDERFUL. But today... I have this undertone feeling of annoyance. But not with anyone or anything... like it’s just in and within myself lol!!! I’m approaching that time of the month, so it makes sense. But I’m just like AH! UGH! About nothing and everything. Does this make sense to anyone??”
