Serena Pitt Reveals Whether She’ll Change Her Last Name to Amabile

Bachelor Nation fans saw Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile find love and get engaged on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Then, last year, the two shocked fans with a surprise courthouse wedding video they posted on social media.
And while they are already legally married, Joe and Serena shared that they are still planning a big wedding celebration for September of this year.
Now, Serena is stopping by fellow Bachelor Nation star Chelsea Vaughn’s “Vaughnerable” podcast, where she revealed whether she’ll be changing her last name to Amabile.
Serena started off by saying, “I truly wouldn’t be fazed with never changing my last name. I don’t think it makes me any more married to take his name. However, I want me, my husband, and our children to all have the same last name.”
Chelsea asked Serena if she would ever want to hyphenate her name and be Serena Pitt-Amabile.
Serena shared, “I don’t know if I’ll hyphenate, but I do know what I’d personally like to do. I don’t have a middle name; my parents never gave me one. It’s not a huge thing in Indian culture and my parents just didn’t give us middle names. My mom doesn’t have one.”
So Serena has a perfect idea in mind that feels like the ideal balance and name for her.
“I grew up with no middle name, just Serena Pitt. That’s really all there is to it. So I’d love to give myself the middle name Pitt so I could still be Serena Pitt and then take Joe’s last name, Amabile,” she said.
Love that! We love Serena and Joe’s love and can’t wait for their big day in September!
