Experience Tallinn, Estonia, Like Zach Shallcross on ‘The Bachelor’
Tallinn in love!
Estonia is a stunning, lush, and historic country in northeastern Europe that is the perfect place to take your relationship to the next level. The unique country is over 50% forest and has more than 2,000 islands, so if you’re a nature lover, Estonia is the perfect place for your next adventure. Estonia’s capital Tallinn is the best-preserved medieval city in Northern Europe and is definitely worth a visit. Estonia is also a great destination to visit on your next European adventure because of its proximity to other countries like Finland and Sweden, which are only a short ferry trip away.
Zach Shallcross and the women of Season 27 of “The Bachelor” traveled to Tallinn, Estonia, on this week’s episode, and here’s how you can experience the beautiful country just like they did on the show.
Where to Stay
If you’re looking for the perfect place to stay in Tallinn, Estonia, look no further than the Swissotel. Zach and the women of his season stayed at the luxurious, centrally located Swissotel Tallinn. The hotel is known for being the tallest building in the city, which means you can soak up the swoon-worthy views of the old town and the Baltic Sea. And if you’re hoping for a great meal during your stay, you won’t even have to leave the hotel. The Swissotel also has three different fine dining restaurants, including the Horisont Restaurant & Bar, which is the perfect date night spot for a stunning view of all of Tallinn. If you’re looking for a relaxing wellness experience, be sure to take your date’s hand to check out Swissotel’s gym, indoor pool, spa, and jogging trails.
One-on-One Date: Enjoy the Ride!
For Zach’s first one-on-one date in Estonia, he invited Charity on a romantic day of touring the historic city of Tallinn. The two took a carriage ride and soaked up so much of what Tallinn has to offer. Zach and Charity grabbed some sweet almonds in Olde Hansa, they stopped for a drink of “Estonian Spirit,” and ate delicious marzipan from Cafe Maiasmokk. The two eventually stopped at a traditional Estonian wife-carrying contest in Cathedral Park and they even won! These kinds of special, centuries-old traditions are exactly what you can expect while enjoying a city with such a rich history like Tallinn. For the night portion of their date, Zach and Charity had dinner and spent the evening at Kadriorg Palace. The richly decorated main hall looked beautiful on “The Bachelor,” but seeing it in person is really the only way to do the stunning palace justice!
Group Date: Under a Love Spell
For his group date in Estonia, Zach invited Aly, Brooklyn, Gabi, Jess, Kaity, and Kat on a unique adventure. The group visited the Open Air Museum, a special location that you must visit when you head to Estonia. At the Open Air Museum, they encourage and teach people to value and responsibly preserve the Estonian rural heritage and appreciate the traditional way of life. While at the museum, Zach and his women were visited by Heli, an Estonian witch. They performed love rituals with one another that brought them even closer together. What a romantic activity for you and your partner to enjoy while also learning about the culture of a very special country! After enjoying all that the Open Air Museum had to offer, Zach and the ladies headed to Saku Manor for a cocktail party. Saku Manor is one of the best examples of classical Estonian architecture, and the designer of the building is said to be famous architect Carlo Rossi. This is another location that you and your boo truly have to visit in person to soak up all its glory!
One-on-One Date: Keeping It Steamy
Want to relax away from the city? “The Bachelor” has the perfect date for you and your love. Zach invited Ariel on his second one-on-one date in Estonia and the two got to enjoy the day at a traditional Estonian spa in the countryside. Zach took Ariel to spend the day at Patsuloigu Smoke Sauna, which is famous for being a nude sauna. You can visit Patsuloigu Smoke Sauna with a group, with your date, or even on your own. It’s the perfect place to connect with other travelers and enjoy a relaxing getaway during your travels. After a day filled with self-care, Zach and Ariel finished their date at Koltsu Manor in the Estonian countryside. The Victorian house dates back to the early 19th century, and while it was renovated in 2010, the authentic details have been restored so you and your date can enjoy the grounds just as Estonians did back in 1909.
So what are you waiting for?! You and your significant other can be planning your trip to Estonia now!
