Experience Budapest, Hungary, Like Zach Shallcross on ‘The Bachelor’
Hungary for love!
Budapest is the stunning capital city of Hungary, and it’s both historic and modern all at the same time. While the city has architecture that dates back to the 1800s, Budapest is now also a global hot spot for fashion, arts, culture, technology, entertainment, and more! Budapest is also known for its thermal baths, quirky bars, and gorgeous views of the Danube River. Sounds like the perfect romantic destination to explore with your significant other.
Zach Shallcross and the women of Season 27 of “The Bachelor” traveled to Budapest, Hungary, on this week’s episode. Upon arriving in Budapest, Zach said, “This place is the epitome of romance. It’s beautiful everywhere you look. I mean, the cobblestone is beautiful, the architecture. It just feels very elegant, very classy. The air feels crisp. I’m feeling good! I think it’s the perfect environment to fall in love.” We couldn’t agree more, and here’s how you can experience the incredible city just like they did on the show!
Where to Stay
Zach and his remaining seven women stayed at the stunning Anantara New York Palace. This hotel is absolutely breathtaking, from its ornate marble carvings to impressive columns, chandeliers, and more! The Anantara is an architectural ode to Europe’s Belle Époque time period, and in addition to its pure beauty, the hotel offers five restaurants, a luxurious spa, a fully equipped gym, and indoor pools. Anantara is also centrally located in historic downtown Budapest with easy access to the metro, tram, and bus. If you’re looking for the perfect romantic place to stay in Budapest, look no further than the Anantara New York Palace.
One-on-One Date: Taking In the View
For Zach’s first one-on-one date in Budapest, he invited Kaity to explore the beautiful city with him. The two spent the day in Castle Hill and met at the famous Castle Garden Bazaar, which is a space frequently used for concerts, exhibitions, and tours. The Castle Garden Bazaar also features a lovely flower garden that Kaity and Zach walked through on their way to taking a funicular up the hill, where they soaked up the views of the city. The couple made their way through Budapest walking on the Toth Arpad path and stopping at street vendors for treats like chimney cakes. Eventually, Kaity and Zach made their way to Love Letter Path and wrote each other love poems. What a sweet date for you and your boo! For the night portion of their day together, Zach invited Kaity to the Gellert Baths, where they had dinner before hopping in the steamy baths together.
Group Date: Where the Magic Happens!
For the group date in Budapest, Zach invited Ariel, Gabi, Charity, and Kat for a very special day together at the Kálmán Imre Theater. The theater is a historic cabaret venue that now holds opera and ballet events regularly. At the theater, the four women and Zach met with Hungarian mentalist Labib Malik, who’s a famous magician, mind reader, and storyteller. During their date, Labib helped the women and focus in on what they are looking for in their relationships and what may be holding them back. And if we can read your mind right now, we think you may be thinking about a trip to Budapest to attend a show at the Kálmán Imre Theater! What are you waiting for?! For the night portion of their group date, Zach took the four women to the Szabó Ervin Library, which is a 19th-century aristocrat’s mansion that’s been transformed into a hidden modern library. There, they enjoyed cocktails and conversations to remember.
One-on-One Date: It’s Getting Steamy
For his second one-on-one date of the week, Zach invited Brooklyn for a day of exploring many of Budapest’s most famous attractions. They started off their date riding around the city on bikes before arriving at City Park. At the park, Brooklyn and Zach enjoyed a hot air balloon ride with Balloon Fly and got to take in the gorgeous views of the city. Talk about a romantic date! But the day didn’t end there. Zach and Brooklyn visited the famous Szechenyi Baths, one of the most popular attractions in Budapest. The Szechenyi Baths are the largest medicinal baths in Budapest, with water supplied by two thermal springs and filled with minerals like calcium and magnesium. These baths are typically kept around a steamy 165 degrees Fahrenheit! While Zach and Brooklyn were in the baths, they even got to enjoy a game of chess with a local couple. For the night portion of their date, the couple visited Bálna for dinner.
So what do you say? Are you ready to accept this rose for you and your love to visit Budapest, Hungary?!
