Caila Quinn Shares Helpful Tips After Introducing Her Dog to Her Newborn Baby Teddi
New baby sister!
Fans first met Caila Quinn Burrello on Season 20 of “The Bachelor,” and she continued her journey on Season 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
While Caila didn’t meet “The One” on-screen, she ended up meeting her now-husband off-screen. Caila married the love of her life, Nick Burrello, in May 2021.
And the two just welcomed their first child together, their daughter Teddi, on March 30!
Now, Caila and her husband Nick just left the hospital with their baby girl and introduced Teddi to their other family member — their dog Ash.
Caila took to Instagram to share how they made the introduction and how their cavapoo has been doing with Teddi.
She wrote, “Ash has been so good with baby girl! He DEFINITELY knows she is a baby and just sits and watches her all day. I think he is protecting her because if she cries, he tries to lick her toes to make her feel better.”
Caila shared some tips for how they introduced their pup to their baby.
The new mom wrote, “How we introduced our 15 lb cavapoo to our newborn baby: First Nick let Ash out to go to the bathroom so he was calmer and so Ash felt like he got some attention first. Then Nick brought in her empty car seat and let Ash smell it so he was familiar with her smell.”
Caila went on, saying, “I entered the home standing and holding the baby in my arms. I slowly let him sniff her bum bum to introduce them. We took our time and I sat in a chair in the backyard with baby in my arms, letting Ash get familiar with her and saying ‘good boy’ when he was gentle to positively affirm his good behavior.”
So sweet!
The Bachelor Nation star concluded, writing, “We treated him with pieces of roasted chicken and belly rubs — which he loved. From then on he follows her around protectingly waiting for treats and we always say good boy when he is near her and calm. This has worked for us! And hope it helps you!”
