Tessa Tookes Reveals Why Watching Her ‘Bachelor in Paradise Canada’ Date Meant So Much to Her as a Black Woman

Bachelor Nation fans first met Tessa Tookes on Season 26 of “The Bachelor,” and she’s currently appearing on Season 2 of “Bachelor in Paradise Canada.”
Tessa’s “BIPC” debut aired this week, and she just took to Instagram to share why the moment was so important to her.
The Bachelor Nation star shared a photo with her date Joey Kirchner and their helicopter, and on her Stories, she said, “First of all, thank you so much for all of the support I’ve gotten from my first episode on ‘Bachelor in Paradise Canada’ last night.”
She went on, saying, “I also want to say, it meant so much to me to rewatch my first date with Joey in the helicopter. To see a Black woman in an environment of luxury, being validated, and being shown affection right off the bat is honestly something that I haven’t experienced very often.”
Tessa added, “If you’re looking for Black validation, love, affection, and luxury and women like me and Chelsea Vaughn being treated with love and respect right off the bat I highly recommend watching.”
She concluded her Story by teasing what’s still to come, saying, “This season is going to be a good one and I can’t wait to see the rest!”
Alongside the photo with Joey, Tessa wrote, “So honored to be Joey’s 3rd date and 6th kiss of the season,” and Chelsea commented back, “Raise your hand if you did NOT kiss Joey…. Just me? Okay.”
