Charity Reveals If She Regrets Not Taking Back Brayden’s Rose and If She’s Nervous to See Him at ‘MTA’
Getting candid.
This week, Bachelorette Charity Lawson stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast and opened up to co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt about her season so far.
The co-hosts asked Charity about her highly debated relationship with Brayden and whether she regrets not taking back his rose.
Charity kept it real, saying, “I don’t want to say I have any regrets from the show, but the moment where I was threatening to take back his rose, I really should’ve acted then. I was just really in my head and I tend to overanalyze things too much. I was like, what if I do it too soon and then something changes? That’s where my head was at in that moment.”
The Bachelorette shared where she thinks her relationship with Brayden went wrong.
Charity said, “The whole problem with me and Brayden is what was told to me is also shared again as a topic of discussion for the guys in the house. That was a problem for me. When it comes to the comment about me not being myself, Brayden did share that with me on our one-on-one date. He was not easing into the comfortability of what this whole process is and the premise of it.”
She went on, explaining, “I was trying to be very comforting and tell him that I’m exactly what you’re seeing. This is Charity. You’re going to get this here, you’re going to get this when the show is over with, there is no inauthentic version of myself. That’s how I took it when he kept bringing up that he just wanted me to be ‘off’ for a second. I don’t get to be off. I don’t know what you mean by that. I’m the Bachelorette, but I’m also not just the Bachelorette, I’m Charity. This is who I am and I’m having conversations with you trying to get to know you, but I don’t know what you mean by this.”
And while Charity said she isn’t sure what Brayden’s intentions were, it felt to her like he was trying to label her as inauthentic.
She added, “Brayden was doing too much. I was like, ‘Why are you acting like this?’ It was such erratic behavior and like Tanner said, he was overcompensating for something.”
Joe and Serena asked Charity if she’s nervous to see Brayden or any of the other guys at “Men Tell All.”
She said, “I’m not nervous to see anyone. What type of energy will they come in with? Obviously Brayden is going to come in and whether or not he will come in with his erratic energy or not, I don’t know. I will always meet people with grace.”
However, Charity did say she hopes Brayden owns up to some of his upsetting actions.
She shared, “I hope he takes accountability for some of his behaviors and some of what we were seeing in comparison to how he talked to me and what she shared with the guys. I’m not bashing him because the stuff he talked about was very realistic, but just some of those behaviors that I think at times were manipulative. Especially like when he came back to apologize, that apology was not even for me, it was for himself.”
