Susie Evans Reveals She Had Her First Kiss in College, What She Loved About Living in Japan, and More!
Answering your burning questions.
Bachelor Nation fans saw Susie Evans and Clayton Echard find love on Season 26 of “The Bachelor,” and after the show, they moved in together in Virginia.
Susie and Clayton eventually split last October but have been continuing to support each other on social media since their breakup.
Now, Susie is living in Los Angeles and just took to Instagram for a Q&A with her hundreds of thousands of followers.
During her Q&A, one fan asked Susie what she was like in high school and whether she dated a lot back then.
The Bachelor Nation star got candid with her answer, writing, “I was corny as hell. Probably quite annoying and a menace to my community. I didn’t have boyfriends or date (I did go to school dances though!). I had my first bf and kiss in college (late bloomer).”
Susie went on, saying, “My friends were scholastic and high achievers and I genuinely think being their friend elevated me as a human and helped me see more potential in myself. To this day my core best friends from childhood (20+ year friends) are high achievers, kind, loving, thoughtful, and supportive. I was a bit rough around the edges (in a fun and harmless way.. spunky if you will) and I think they really made me better in a lot of ways and I hope they would say the same about me.”
How sweet! We love lifelong friendships.
Susie also opened up about her time living in Japan after college. A fan asked what her favorite part of living there was, and she could hardly pick.
Susie said, “Where to begin?! I love how they value hard work. As a young person I was sometimes afraid to even try for things in life because I would be embarrassed or laughed at if I failed or did it poorly. In Japan, you will be respected for trying and failing versus being too cool to even try. I have heard people say, even now occasionally, that I’m ‘trying too hard.’”
She continued, writing, “I love that mean spirited compliment now. No one can say that I’m not trying, and I feel proud of that. Living in Japan gave me courage to look stupid for trying. It shaped my work ethic in a way I didn’t know I needed. Japan humbled me and taught me about respect. It shaped me in all the best ways. All of that plus public transport, public safety, and mochi.”
Sounds incredible!
We love learning more about Susie from her time before her Bachelor Nation days!
