Haley Ferguson Reveals the Hardest Part of IVF Journey: ‘I’m Not Sure I’ve Accepted It’
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation star Haley Ferguson married her Finnish hockey player fiancé Oula Palve last June and the two have been loving the newlywed life ever since.
Haley’s twin sister Emily also got married last year and just welcomed her first child with husband William Karlsson.
And amid all the excitement over Emily’s new baby boy, Haley has been opening up about her experience with infertility.
The Bachelor Nation star just took to her Instagram for a Q&A, where she answered a lot of questions about her IVF journey so far.
One fan asked what the hardest part of the IVF experience has been so far for her, and Haley opened up, saying, “The mental games you play with yourself…the what if we tried IUl one more time, what if it doesn’t work, what if we don’t get any eggs, what if they aren’t PGT normal, what if we have to do this all over again…you can play this game all day every day. It’s a waiting game and you’ve gotta have a lot of faith and hope that whatever is meant to be will be. You can only control so much in this process and it’s tough.”
Another fan shared that they are also facing fertility struggles and asked Haley how she fully accepts this experience.
Haley got candid, saying, “I’m not sure I’ve accepted it… .I struggle all the time wondering how this happened and why. Could I have done something different? It hurts. As happy as you are for others it hurts to see that some people get to choose when it’s the right time for them to have a baby or when they’d like to start trying. I hope one day it will all make sense and I hope the same for you and anyone else struggling with infertility. I just know you’re not alone.”
She shared that as they go through the process, she and her husband will not be finding out the gender of their baby, as they will be happy with a boy or a girl since “we just want a baby.”
Haley did, however, share some boy and girl names that she loves.
She wrote, “I’ll share some names that I love for girls that my husband refuses to let me use and according to him I like ‘earthy’ names and I like names that could also be used for a boy! For a girl, I like Sutton, Frankie, Ruth, Navy, Scottie, Violet, Remi, and Connor.”
And for boy names, Haley wrote, “Boy names are so hard for me! I can think of a ton of girl names. But here’s some I have on my list that we won’t use. I’ve had a list since like 2016 that I’ve randomly added names to throughout the years. For boys, I like Brink, Wesley, Porter, Everette, Sawyer, Dawson, Nolan, and Arrow.”
We’re continuing to think about Haley and her family as they move through the IVF process and we know that her sharing her experience will help so many others.
