During this week’s group date, Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner stopped by for a conversation with BachelorNation.com and opened up about his journey to find love so far.

Gerry shared how he’s balancing having feelings for multiple women, what he’s looking forward to, and his plans for after the show.

Bachelor Nation: So good to see you, Gerry! Last time we talked before Night 1, you said you were worried that you wouldn’t connect with anyone. How do you feel about that now?

Gerry Turner: So, that was really a silly thing for me to say back then because I’ve made some really strong connections. There are six or seven of these women that I would say that I have much more than a friendship with at this point. There is a start of a real connection. This has been really enjoyable. They are all so wonderful.

BN: I’m glad to hear that! Did you enjoy Night 1 as much as you were hoping to?

GT: It exceeded my expectations without a doubt — the excitement, the energy — but every woman was like a mini chapter in the book that is “The Golden Bachelor.” Every chapter felt new and different. It was so fun.

BN: So fun! What has been your favorite part of this journey so far and has there been a challenging part?

GT: The funnest part is probably the pickleball date that we’re doing today. It was closest to [a] normal everyday routine. Playing a sport, hanging out, socializing with people, enjoying the day and the weather. The most difficult or challenging part of this so far has been that my time is so busy. I just wish we all had more time together.

BN: That all makes sense. In all the busyness, how have you been balancing having feelings for multiple women?

GT: There are several things I have been doing. First, I journal every night at the end of the day. I write down my true feelings and I write down what happened that day. Then a day or two later, I reread that to see what I said and how I was feeling. It is difficult balancing good, warm, strong feelings with a number of different women. There is no instruction book for that. I’m just doing the best I can.

BN: And are you feeling any feelings of love yet?

GT: I’m getting there. That is what I have in my vision for myself here. I really didn’t come here to just go through the motions. I really did come here to find my partner for the rest of my life. I am very optimistic. I am hopeful it’s going to happen for me.

BN: How exciting! What are you most looking forward to in the coming weeks?

GT: Clarity. I hope I get clarity. Right now, I have feelings for a number of the women. I know that the clock is ticking and time is going. I need to start defining more clearly what those feelings are and where the strongest feelings are.

BN: Once you find that clarity and hopefully find the love you’re looking for, have you thought at all about what’s next after the show?

GT: We have been talking about what comes next and where we might live. It’s a topic that I have brought up several times in several different conversations because geography might be one of the biggest challenges for me and whoever I end up with. Once we see a connection growing, I need to incorporate another conversation about how far away we live and what kind of living arrangements would be acceptable to the two of us. It’s just really top line at this point. We haven’t gotten into specific moving details yet because it is still a bit early for that, but we will figure out what’s best for us and our families.
