Trista and Ryan Sutter found love and got engaged on the very first season of “The Bachelorette.”

Trista gave Ryan her final rose back in 2003 and the two have been together ever since.

Since then, the Bachelor Nation couple has gotten married and had two children: Max and Blakesley.

Now Trista stopped by for an exclusive chat with BachelorNation.com, where she looked back at how the show has evolved over the years and revealed her favorite Bachelor Nation memory.

Trista shared how she loves “The Golden Bachelor” and how she feels like it’s really bringing the show back to its roots.

The former Bachelorette said, “I think what I missed most was the innocence of the Bachelor Nation shows. Way back when on my seasons, we didn’t know what was going on. We were truly there for the right reasons if you’re going to use that phrase. I just miss the innocence and not guessing if someone is there because they want fame. I love when it’s just about love.”

She went on, discussing the “Golden” cast and saying, “I personally think these women are here to meet Gerry. I also love how the show has changed for the better in a lot of ways too. I mean, it’s still going, so clearly they’re doing something right over the years! I just love that it’s still on air. The fact that I get to come back here 20 years later for a season of ‘The Golden Bachelor’ who is the age of my parents who is getting a second chance at love, I just love that these stories are being told.”

Trista also looked back on her 20 years as a member of Bachelor Nation and shared her favorite memory that some might not know about.

She said, “I have so many favorite Bachelor Nation memories! This community is a huge part of my life. Obviously my wedding, that was huge for us. One of my favorite moments in life actually happens to be one of my favorite moments from my association with Bachelor Nation. When we got married, we picked our first dance song and when we were going to do it.”

Trista continued, “As I was getting into my dress and we were taking some last-minute photos and Ryan kept saying we needed to hurry up. I was like, ‘I am taking pictures. It’s my wedding day. Just calm down.’ I was just messing around with him but told him to calm down.”

But what she didn’t realize is that Ryan had planned a massive surprise for her.

She said, “We walked into the reception hall and then Ryan took the mic and said, ‘I hope that you’ll forgive me because I changed our first dance song. I wrote you a poem called ‘Something About Her’ on our first one-on-one date. He had a band change the poem into a song and then Brad Paisley showed up and actually sang us the song for our first dance. So it was the poem he wrote for me with Brad Paisley singing it. I was floored. The reason he was hurrying me along was because Brad had a hard out for a concert he was flying to perform at.”

How sweet! We love hearing all these special behind-the-scenes Bachelor Nation moments and we love that Trista still loves Bachelor Nation so much all these years later.
