Rudi Gutierrez Advances to Next Round on ‘The Voice’ After Epic Performance in Battles

“The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart” star Rudi Gutierrez is competing on Season 24 of “The Voice.”
For her blind audition, Rudi gave an emotional performance of Lesley Gore’s song “You Don’t Own Me.”
Her impressive vocal talent got all four judges — John Legend, Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, and Reba McEntire — to turn their chairs around.
Niall even blocked John from being able to pick Rudi because he wanted her on his team so badly.
Rudi eventually went with team Gwen and just competed in her epic battle performance against fellow team Gwen member 16-year-old Joslynn Rose.
The two sang Evanescence’s song “My Immortal” and John Legend said, “Rudi, I feel like you were really coming into your own in this performance. It was just powerful and clear and really impressive.”
Reba chimed in, saying, “Rudi, your vocals are wonderful and you have great stage presence and a very powerful voice.”
Niall also added, “Rudi, that was phenomenal. You were pretty much flawless. It felt like you were climbing a mountain the whole way through the song and just kept going and going. It was such an impressive sing.”
Their coach Gwen eventually shared her thoughts, saying, “Rudi, what I was really impressed with is that you were so tasteful within the genre of this song. You didn’t oversing. You could’ve tried to put all these runs all over it, but you just did enough that we were reminded that you know how to do that.”
Gwen decided to advance Rudi as the winner of the battle and Rudi will be going on to compete in the knockouts.
The coach said, “I had to go with Rudi because I know she’s ready for what’s to come in this competition.”
