Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Faith Martin on Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor,” and she’s been keeping fans updated with her life on social media since the show.

Now, Faith is stopping by for an exclusive chat with BachelorNation.com to look back on the experience and share what she’s looking for in the future.

Bachelor Nation: Thank you for chatting with us, Faith! Now that “The Golden Bachelor” has finished airing, how do you feel about how your journey with Gerry came to an end?

Faith Martin: Of course, I love Bachelor Nation! And now, I absolutely understand why Gerry made the decisions that he did. When I contemplate the whole thing, I don’t know internally if I really needed any answers. What hurt me the most was the disconnect when I was being sent home. When I looked at him that day, I didn’t see the Gerry that I knew and loved, I saw this stone cold stranger. That’s what hurt me so much. I thought I wanted answers, but when I had a chance to reconnect with him at “Women Tell All,” it felt so much like we just needed to reconnect and say goodbye and I wish you well. It felt really good and I now realize that there were some ways that Gerry and I wouldn’t have aligned long term. I think he made the best choice for himself. I’m truly so happy for Gerry and Theresa!

BN: Yes, us too! How has dating for you been since the show?

FM: Everyone wants to set me up with their dad! It’s a little overwhelming, so I really think that if I meet someone it will have to be organically in person. I even signed up for a dating website called Date My Age. I spent about five or 10 minutes perusing men and thought it was awful and too hard. I don’t think I can do that.

BN: Yeah, online dating can definitely be difficult! Have you been getting recognized by Bachelor Nation fans in public?

FM: Oh, my gosh yes, everywhere! I have met the sweetest, most wonderful Bachelor Nation fans. Not only do they recognize me, but they come up and say how much they loved hearing my story. I feel like the whole world has been so compassionate and so kind to me. It’s really restored my faith in the world and humanity. I feel like all of us here on “The Golden Bachelor” are helping the world wake up to love again. It’s been really remarkable. I would recommend anyone go on a Bachelor Nation show if they get the opportunity to. Life is about the unexpected and taking risks to meet people you would’ve never met. I think that’s what life is all about. I have no regrets. I do really trust the process because I’ve seen it, so I believe in it.

BN: Aww, we love to hear that! Do you have any advice for other singles out there or anything you learned from this experience that you want to share?

FM: My advice for singles of all ages is to date with intention and date with focus. Create intimacy early on, and I’m not talking about sexual intimacy. I’m talking about real intimacy when it comes to talk about deep things that may be hard and what’s truly important to you. Those are the things that are going to create a deeper connection with someone. I think you need that to know whether it’s sustainable. You have to have that deep connection with someone. I am looking for someone now that I have that soulful connection with. In the past, most of my relationships have been built on spark and chemistry, but Gerry was the first that felt really deep in that way and now I need a more spiritual and soul felt connection. That is far more sustainable for the long haul.
